Does the engine turn with a hand crank or an electric motor?

As designed it comes with a tiny motor...though given my experience with the frozen distributor...one might be better off to plan on hand turning the crank...

I would say ages 10 and up as there are a lot of small parts. My husband and I were ages 61 and 56 respectively and we LOVED putting it together!

What tools to you need to build this kit--stuff not in the kit? Glue type, etc.?

No glue required. it's all held together with screws. assembles close to how a real engine goes together. Comes with everything you need to put it together. I would only recommend an exacto knife and maybe a nail file for trimming plastic down.

Good response from seller to queries and the product reached well on time considering it is an international shipment. The item was great, though there were issues with alignment and I had to do a bit of jugaad to get it done. It is nonetheless a very nice way if explaining engines. Assembly has to done by someone who knows a bit about engines. You just have to follow the instructions to the letter!
