The Complete Sailing Manual, 4th Edition

It’s complete, through and well written. I was hoping for something more in-depth and comprehensive. Something that would go into topics that are only dealt with superficially in similar books. It covers so many topic and information that it really can’t do any one topic justice. Recommended for the new sailor or someone who wants to learn about sailing. Not recommended for an intermediate or experienced sailor.

I love this book and have learnt so much from it. The graphics and layout are clear and fun to look through. It has been relevant to me for many aspects of sailing from lasers to cruising, boat ownership etc.Some sections are brief but it is always good enough to set you on the right direction, such as buying, repairs, race skills. Always a great topic overview.

By far, the best illustrated guide to sailing. The images do so much more the fully understand the complex issues of sailing. It’s the best book to start with if you want to learn about sailing.

Good gentleral book. Touches on a wide range of topics. It's a good first reference but you will want more if you are looking at a complete reference work for say just keelboats. That's not a negative for this book though as it is a general reference work. Theboictures and diagrams are good and I find myself paying through the book often and picking up valuable snippets of information.

This is a great text book that reads really easily and distills sailing down really well. It covers really all types, so applicable to those interested in dinghy sailing as well as cruising. Really enjoyed it and continue to use it as a reference for getting new ideas to improve sailing performance and knowledge. I highly recommend.
