Does this soften paws? My dog lives on a farm and i don’t want to put his paws at risk of softening

What is the size of this product being sold for $14.97?

The container is 2-1/2" diameter. The product comes up about 3/4" in the tin. So, it's not a whole lot of product, but, it's a wax and goes on sparingly. The price also reflects the organic ingredients. I use this on my 55 lb mixed breed dog who loves to run and has really rough front pads. But my Boston Terrier loves to lick her paws after I put it on them. That's when I'm glad for the organic ingredients.

Any tips to deter dog from licking paws after applying this?

I apply this at bedtime and have used the reward method to keep my dog from licking his paws after I apply it. He gets a treat for leaving it alone while I'm reading a book. Then its lights out and by then he's asleep.
