I'm in my korean ajummah era now and this hat was and is perfect. I also have a giant head and this works perfectly for me. It is a ridiculous size but its exactly what I wanted and needed. It's comforable, it doesn't weigh weirdly on your head, its super light and surprisingly not floppy. When I got it it was folded in quarters and i thought that the wrinkle and bend would stay but it all went away after an hour. I think the surface area protects ytour skin, neck and shoulders.

It's comically big. Gets lots of points and whispers from passersby, but it's dang sure the bee's knee's for sun protection. Only downsides are the adjustment band and brim crease. The plastic doohicky intended to hold the elastic sizing band is vestigial, at best. It didn't hold a darn thing. Finally gave up and used a stretchy velcro strap around the outside. Also, it shipped folded into a small box, leaving the brim permanently creased. So far nothing has helped, but given the comically large brim I'm not to worried about it. Even crease-free it's a spectacle worthy of chuckles and comments. Don't care, though, as it's the first time in my adult life I've been able to spend a day outside without either bathing in suscreen or coming home blistered beyond recognition.

The wide brim on this hat provides excellent sun protection. I use it when gardening or working around the house and I appreciate the shade this thing throws. The wide brim also helps with Deer Flies, which we have a lot of this time of year. I think the brim confuses them and they don't know where to land. With all this said, this hat does have its deficiencies. First, the sizing material used for keeping the brim stiff digs into my forehead. This occurs despite the fact my hat size is at the lower limit of the product size specification (58 cm). The internal head band material doesn't seem to provide enough cushion to alleviate the pressure. When wearing the hat for extended periods it becomes somewhat uncomfortable. I would imagine this to be a more significant problem if one's head size approaches the upper circumference specification (60 cm). It is important to note that if your head's circumference is less than 58 cm this hat will not fit you. The drawstring mechanism will not pull the hat tighter than it's minimum inside brim dimension (58 cm). If your head/hat size is like mine, you will find the hat to be loose fitting. Additionally, the internal head band material does not appear to have much capability to absorb perspiration. Unlike my Columbia Booney Hat, for instance, I find perspiration running down my face in no time with this hat. I would recommend to the manufacture of this hat to beef up the head band material to alleviate this problem and the issue with pressure points. In summary, if you're looking for a hat that will throw a lot of shade, this hat is for you. It may not be your most comfortable hat however.

Finally a hat that fits my 23.5 inch head, and has enough room to spare for a scarf or ski cap in cold weather. I have been waiting literally 50 + years to find a hat that I could wear without getting a headache, and this one fits, and has a nice large brim to protect me from the sun. Just wish that they hadn't mangled the brim by folding/rolling it for shipping. Hope that it doesn't take forever for the bends and creases to relax and flatten out, as I love the hat. Now I won't have to use an umbrella for shade, and or warding off bird poop when sitting in the park or gardening. Finally a hat that wasn't made for a 'pinhead,' as most sunhats are. I can't get over finally finding one that fits, and much less has room to spare. Being nylon, it should be easy to clean with soap and water, except for the sweat band that is made of the same type of material that a cheep cloth shopping bag is made of. hoping it isn't too hard to replace with some grosgrain ribbon when it wears out.
