"Space! The final frontier". Star Trek that started all the others,Captain Kirk, Spock, Lt. Uhura, and Dr. McCoy are here with the Enterprise. These glass panels will always look great! The touch sensor gives you 3 light level settings with only a touch to any metal part of the lamp. The black chrome finish looks great with only minimal care. (Care instructions with lamp.) Changing your light level is as easy as 1-2-3. One touch on the metal gives you the lowest light level, a second touch gives you medium light and a third touch sets you lamp to its highest level of light. A final touch turns your lamp off. All of this is done with regular candelabra light bulbs, up to a maximum of 100 watts. This lamp uses 3-candelabra light bulbs and arrives with three 15-watt bulbs to start with. (Remember to replace with any candelabra bulb up to 25 watts each—3 times 25= 75 total watts. Any color, or shape, frosted or clear, pointy or round, candelabra bulb will work. It's the size of the base of the bulb that you need to match.) The touch sensor that makes all of this possible is covered by a one year warranty. Simply return the sensor to us for a replacement within one year. Touch sensors are also available for purchase. Classy and awesome.
Ordered this for my dad for Christmas. It's really classy looking so it was easily assimilated into my parents' living room without looking tacky like memorabilia items sometimes can. We've had no problems so far and my dad loves the three different light settings. It was easily assembled -- I did so on Christmas Eve and left it plugged in on the table so he could wake up to it. Overall a huge success and I recommend this for any diehard Star Trek fan. Thankfully, it's of the members of the original series which makes it even better! I'm only worried that the touch aspect is going to go after the one year warranty is up. But that remains to be seen.

Pretty but....
The lamp is beautiful, however the base could be sturdier. I thought it was made of metal but it's not. It's like a plastic and and very cheap looking. On the up side the picture is clear and it lights up nicely even if it should have been Scotty on the picture and not Uhura. So I give it 3 stars because of the cheap base.

Wish however they would have put different pictures on the panels instead of the same all the way around,but seems to be good quality and built well.
