Bad quality
The product is just 1 week old and the camera pan handle just stopped working. The threads worn out in just a week of use.

The BEST tripod I have ever purchased for the price!
I have purchased many budget-oriented tripods over the years. Several, however, in just the past two years. I don’t even have enough accolades to express my satisfaction with this tripod! It is sturdy. It is plenty tall enough. Has a hook for a small bag (11lbs). The telescopic legs of this tripod are nice and thick, and the clamps that hold them in place do a fine job. Many (most) tripods it this price, have tiny, weak legs for their smallest telescopic section, but these are very sturdy. In fact, the clamps hold so well that you do not necessarily need to fully extend the leg. The clamp will hold (use common sense, don’t try to hold a small child with your tripod). Say for example you have two legs on solid, level ground, but there just isn’t room to extend the third one fully. The clamps will hold the tripod firmly in place, with a section just partially extended, so that you may get your level shot.Oh, the tripod also has a built-in level, it’ll shoot horizontally as well as vertically, and can move in 360 degrees. It really is a very nice choice for the money, and they come in snazzy colors, as well!

Super lightweight, acceptable quality, some annoying compatibility issues
I'm using this for portable lighting. I typically carry 3-5 tripods and electrical components in one case and then camera equipment and lighting in two other cases. This is not anywhere near as sturdy as my Manfrotto or even my ball head Neewer, but it's definitely capable of getting the job done. I had a minor quality issue with the first one I got, which was missing some parts (!), but they replaced it. Mind you, this is Amazon-- there is no MACTREM hotline.I'm taking off one star for what may be completely irrelevant-- but might be a dealbreaker for you: the plate mount system isn't based on any standardized mounts. It can fit an Arca mount, but it's like you have to jam it in there, and it's cheap plastic, so it feels like it might break. The one they DO provide you with IS serviceable, but you can forget about using this for some sort of heavy, professional DSLR. You can also forget about unscrewing it to replace it with a different head, use a screw adapter, QR plate, or whatever, because the thing doesn't disassemble at all. This, I've come to find, is a hallmark of cheaper tripods. It's annoying and something that would be ever so easy to fix at very little cost.Anyway, just something to think about. This is fine for smaller cameras or smartphones, where portability is key. I would not use it for a DSLR. The stabilizer for the legs also means you have a limited number of angles. But definitely a good, cheap starter option that isn't the $15.99 special garbage.

Full-featured budget tripod
I bought the PT55 model tripod to replace a Takama tripod that came bundled with my Sony DSLR. The Takama lasted about 2 weeks before the plastic surrounding a pid holding one of the legs to the tripod broke and almost collapsed while holding my camera. The design of the PT55 is much more robust and has so far held up to my infrequent use of the tripod. This budget tripod has all the features I would expect to find in a higher-end tripod and it has a much better design than I had anticipated at this price point.
