A normal bungee cord has a fair amount of flex in it. This one is extremely, extremely stiff. The whole point of a bungee cord it so you can wrap it and extend it; we just won’t really do that

I should have read the reviews before buying this cord. It seems like it's a good quality cord, but I relied on the claim that this cord "stretches to up to twice its original length" which it does not. I need it to secure a 5-gallon pail to the inside of a vehicle. A 5-gallon pail has an outer circumference of 36", but this 24" cord does not stretch to 36" without having a great deal of torque on the cord. That much torque is dangerous because if the hook ever let go, it would whack someone with a great deal of force, possibly taking their eye out if their face is near the path of the cord.

The other reviewers are correct about the lack of stretch. These are 100 percent plastic...they are great for exercise but not any good for the normal uses of a bungee cord. I'm not telling you to refrain from buying them but just telling you that...no kidding...better make sure how long they should be before ordering. The EFFECTIVE stretch is just about 4 inches. You can stretch then a lot further but you better be a guy with a lot of upper body strength. I lift weights and I had trouble stretching them to 1.5 times their normal length. But they did not break. My problem is that if you use them to hold a bag down on a motorcycle, which is what I was going to do with them, they will crush whatever you hold down if they are not the perfect length. They will sit on the shelf...to inexpensive to return. Take care if you buy these. They may be great in certain applications. I think it would probably be better if they renamed them because they are anything but the perfect bungee cord.

Yes these things don't stretch at all but maybe over time it will? I bought two. Stretching just one popped out a panel in my car trunk so I linked the two together to form a firm bungee at 30" instead. Works good enough for now. Nice quality though overall

These are far more durable than any bungees I’ve used. Some reviewers said they didn’t stretch as much but I’ve found they will. You’ve just got to pull harder. So far they’ve held up for me.

I have been using this for two years to hold a  Rockford Fosgate P300-10 Punch Powered Loaded 10-Inch Subwoofer Enclosure  in place in the back of my hatchback and it is just as strong as the day I bought it. The polyurethane is very gentle on the edges of the subwoofer as it has left no marks. I love that it has retained both it's strength and elasticity through cold winters and hot summers.

i like the material these things are made of as i use them around salt water, thus far they're in good shape. they do not stretch as far as conventional rubber, hence the variety of lengths to chose from. i like the fact that you can chose multiple colors as it comes in handy when you have different lengths. time will tell how good these things really are and if they're worth the extra $.
