What's the difference between this bottle and the black bottle?

The is an excellent product with a lot of B vitamins in addition to a lot of iron. Just be sure you buy the softgels not the capsules. The capsules have unwanted additives. The black bottle may have 90 count instead of 60. You can take up to 3 softgels/day with something to eat. Calculate the price per softgel to get the best deal.

Are these vegetable based?

In response to the 1st answer, actually Heme iron from lean red meat, chicken, fish, liver, is much more absorable (30x more) then non heme iron from plant based. Heme iron is not only much easier to digest and absorb but causes a lot less digestive side effects like constipation, stomach cramps & nausea. I don’t know how one could state that non-heme is safer. Perhaps if your a vegetarian u would have no choice but overall heme is much better & why it is much more expensive, see ProFerrin brand (all heme iron, expensive but most effective). Wish there were more heme iron supplement options to bring price down some.

I’ve bought this in the past and have been happy with it. But this time the product has a weird smell that was never ther before.. Should I return it?

I find that sometimes the softgels are smelly, very dark whereas they’re supposed to be a light brown inside a transparent capsule, and most recently misshapen. I return them when I get a bad batch. My assumption is that they’ve been stored at high temperatures, and I’m not sure that the ingredients are all still active. The good ones have been wonderful in clearing up my low iron, so I want the good stuff.

Is the gelatin in the Hema-Plex softgel (iron with essential nutrients) derived from beef or pork products?

Low iron!??? buy this. Get this. Use this. No side effects. Big capsule but easy to swallow. Raise iron and took away ice cravings. On my 2nd bottle and love it!!

These help me so much! Let me preface this by saying I have been a life long anemic. Doctors dont care that I have a ferritin of 3 as long as my iron levels are normal (they are not btw). I am tired of feeling exhausted all the time and cannot take regular iron pills these are super easy on my stomach and when I forget to take them my body knows. I feel like I am getting more energy back. I will continue using as long as my body keeps responding positivity. I only take 1 pill a day so far. Have been since mid April 2026 when I started. I will consider bumping up to 2 after my next lab work in sept
