Waterman Fountain Pen Ink Cartridges, Long, Intense Black, 8 Count, Blister Pack

The only ink I will use is a Waterman fountian pen. It has all the attributes of quality in ink I have come to expect and I feel that I am protecting some rather expensive pens in the process. The design fits well and the ink dries in a short time so there is few occasions of me smering the pave.

Nice color. Nice size. And they always provide fresh ink. Because the cartridge is sealed until the pen's feed tube breaks it, the ink is never exposed to air and remains clean and fresh. The only down side is the flow is harder to start because the pen's feed system is empty until ink starts to flow out of the cartridge as air exchange starts. A slight squeeze is usually enough to do the job; but you still have to wait a couple of minutes for results. If you want to pre-fill the nib's feed, draw up the ink from a bottle. That means you need either a converter (which will wear out with use) or a pen designed to use bottled ink only. The down side of that is cleaning the pen out after a few fills. If you don't, the ink residue with start to clog it. With this cartridge, a quick flush with cold water under a faucet should do the job nicely after removing the empty and before fitting a new full one. Definitely works with all Waterman cartridge pens and may work with a few other brands as well.

This ink is great - smooth, true to color, does not smudge, dries quickly, every single thing you could ask for in an ink you get right here. I especially love the size of the cartridges - I do not like those little tiny ones that I have to change so much, and these are twice that size. So far the one I am using now has written over 18 pages, ( just the front side, because it will bleed thru on some paper) of notes, and we are still going strong! I am using black, But I plan to order more colors, and adore the fact that this ink comes in so many! I am not using this in a waterman pen, I am using it in a hooded Jinhao fountain pen, and it fits perfectly with no converter. I have used it in other pens, but I own so many fountain pens, I don't remember what brands they are anymore lol. I purchased this product at full price and this review is honest and accurate.

These appear to be perfectly acceptable refills. The problem for me is that I believed another reviewer who said all Waterman refills were the same length. They are not. Unfortunately, my pen requires a 2-1/2” long refill; these refills are about 2-7/8”. If your pen accepts that length, these probably would be fine. Obviously, I should have read more reviews or asked for specifics. I might also have been able to avoid my mistake if seller had stated length in product description.

I love to write with a fountain pen. This fits my hand very nicely and produces a fine, even flow of ink. I like the cartridge it uses. Looks so elegant too. Priced right for most budgets.

Purchased these for my Faber Castell fountain pen. My intention was to find some longer ink cartridges so that they don't run out too quickly. They arrived swiftly, and I was thoroughly impressed by the ink quality. The black is intense and flows out with great thickness and consistency. The ink is fairly rapid in drying, and only smudges if you immediately rub something over the ink after it comes out on the page. The pack of eight has lasted me several months, after heavy use every day, so I see this as a good value item compared to other offerings. I will be ordering again as soon as these run out. My only gripe is that they do not 'click' into my pen, rather hang slightly loose. However they have never fallen out or leaked, so it is not a major flaw.
