fixed my issue
Ear Clamp Pliers to really get the clamp tight. I suggest getting a new seal for the pump as it was hard to get the old pump out of the seal and would not trust it. I would also suggest replacing the Diverter Motor and buy an extra Diverter Motor seal if the Diverter Motor comes with a seal. I ripped the new seal trying to get it in place and had a small leak, so lucky I had made a mistake and ordered an extra. replacing the Diverter cost an extra $32, but was worth doing it while I had the dishwasher out and pump out of the way.Items I replaced and used to fix my no pump run issue :Pump seal # WPW10538166Dishwasher Diverter Motor W10537869Diverter seal WPW10195677/W10195677Ear Clamp Pliers

Make Whirlpool Dishwasher Run Again!
Whirlpool dishwasher WDT720PADM2 I bought about 5-6 years ago wasn’t running right and dishes weren’t getting cleaned. I could hear the water start right when I ran a cycle but after about a minute you’re supposed to hear the pump start and the wash cycle start cleaning but the pump cycle made no sound and could tell it wasn’t pumping water nor washing the dishes. This pump was the fix.Fairly easy to fix. There’s a YouTube video by PartSelect that shows how to replace this part number. I left my electrical and supply lines attached. Just unhooked the drain line. Turned it on its side instead of upside down like the video. I did remove the diverter to use the clamp tool. I could not get the diverter to line back up as easy as the video since mine was on its side. I ended up having to use a thin flat blade screwdriver to spin the keyed part inside the washer so I could reinsert the diverter shaft, glad I didn’t have to take apart the inside parts to realign it. PartSelect also has a video showing that process too. I was lucky my friend had an ear crimp tool to install the new crimp clamp. Tried finding a screw clamp like the video says as an alternative but all the ones I found were not narrow enough to fit the groove on the rubber boot of the new pump. You don’t need a PEX tool to install the supplied clamp if you have a pair of ear crimp/clamp pliers. Be careful when removing the pump and seal that it fits into. Video shows the guy reusing the seal but if you tear it you’ll want to replace that too. I ran a full cycle with it still out to identify any leaks. Actually found a supply line leak that I wasn’t even aware of by doing that. So far I’ve ran 2 full wash cycles and had no issues or leaks from the replaced pump. Really glad to not have to buy a new unit as they are back ordered at most places.UPDATE: New pump lasted one week then broke with same symptom as the original. Opened case with Amazon and got a replacement sent out. Installed it and works as I would expect. We’ll see how long the replacement lasts. Glad Amazon covered the part within the 30 day window.

Seems to do the job ok, but let's see how long it lasts!
Not the easiest thing to install, but it fired right up and doesn't leak - yet. I've only had the pump in for two months and so far no complaints. It works exactly as intended. Installation is not particularly easy, since it requires flipping the whole unit upside-down and swearing profusely trying to get the main rubber line connected. The multitude of online videos never show the fact that sometimes the pump won't clear a large plastic molding line on the lower pump assembly, so it takes a lot of muscle and failed attempts to actually get things aligned. My advice - just keep at it, and know it's quite a bit harder than it looks.

Fixed my Whirlpool dishwasher
I was happy to find this as any other source that I tried to get this from was on backorder for who knows how long because of COVID (and a lot more expensive). So, I was a bit concerned that this part wouldn't work. Well, the part showed up, and with the help of a YouTube video, I was able to install it and now my dishwasher works like new again!

So Far So Good
Just like OEM but a lot less in price. Longevity still to be determined. My original OEM only lasted 4 years and was not the common impeller or bearing failure issue. It just stopped working. Hopefully this pump is equal or of better quality.

Fixed my whirlpool dishwasher
It fixed my dishwasher, all hoses and clamps are included. The hardest part is lining up the flange, I can’t comment on longevity. Way cheaper then purchasing a new dishwasher.
