Great Product, terrible instructions
My thermostat is located in my hallway, so when the bedroom doors are closed, the temperature of the rooms is based on the hallway temp readings which makes for the bedrooms being too hot or cold and not reflective of the temps needed in the rooms. This product solved that issue for me. This allows me to take the thermostat into the rooms and control them from bedside which is great. Also makes for a good nightlight if you need a quick light to check anything.Installation was fairly easy. I viewed some YouTube video general installation of these types of product but Honeywell, of course, doesn't provide any videos that I could fine because they are totally clueless about their do it yourself audience but I tried my hand at the installation and it worked beautifully. Luckily my house was wired with the additional wire needed to make the wireless feature function properly (you need four wires at the thermostat, older houses have only three in some cases, the fourth wire provides power to the wireless feature. In my case I had a fourth wire and I suspect most houses that are 20 yrs or less are wired this way but not using the fourth wire which was pushed back in the wall and and this fourth wire needs to be connected at the AC unit also). Yes, you have to read a little to do this but it can be done by you. In other words, this product only works with their wireless featured thermostats so you need to have that wired in place first since you need to replace the unit in the wall that don't have that feature, like I replaced my wall units. One other thing about this product that I have come to appreciate is that I can set up min/max temperatures that allow the air conditioner or heater to kick in when I am not at home. My older system was set up in a way that I had to manually change the system to use the heater or the ac, one or the other, and this was a royal pain when I was traveling and the temperature outside would drop but I wasn't home to switch the system to heat instead of AC. This new Honeywell wall unit that was compatible with this remote controller (Honeywell TH8110R1008 Vision Pro 8000 Touch Screen) resolved that issue, so if you have an older thermostat this will make your life easier. In addition, Honeywell provides the worst installation instructions and no clarity at all in the product literature you need to determine which products to use. I suspect they want the average person to use a professional to install this even though it is not necessary. Honeywell, you need to understand that with the internet you have many customers that want to save money and do it yourself. They are using your pathetic product literature to figure this out and You Tube videos do a much better job than your terrible site and information you provide. We know you need to stay loyal to your resellers but please get a clue already and get your marketing geniuses to figure out the proper balance between your paying end user customers and your resellers!

Great addition to the Honeywell system
This was very good for controlling the temperatures in rooms that are not near the thermostat. In my case, the thermostat was outside the bedroom, and when the door was closed at night, since the thermostat was reading, the temperature outside the bedroom would get cold or hot are using this remote thermostat you could have the temperature red at the remote And get an accurate temperature in your room. The connection is good it’s very portable and long range.

You don't know you needed it till it was not there.
I would have to change my wiring if I added a smart thermostat so I got one of these. Loved it, used it often...Then one day I went to use it, been sitting on the table by my recliner for two years...It was not there. WE looked and looked but could not find it. This is a tool we used and needed the replacement.Got a new one of course.IT does exactly what it is for. It is just a simple remote. It is LCD, not color! Displayed are your sensors like temp, time, the controls for changing modes, changing set temp. Also can be used as a zone thermostat. Why the long winded opening? That should be an indication of my endorsement of this product. Bought twice, needed.I recommend this as a simple remote for compatible systems. Do your research. This remote must be paired with the Redlink controller on your air handler. As easy as bluetooth pairingYou will need the manual for your Honeywell Redlink system. Just in case pairing instructions are not under the top cover. While you are at it add Honeywell remote temperature sensors for your system. They pair the same way. Once paired mount them in areas away from your main thermostat. Lookup how to enter installer options for your Honeywell thermostat. Go there find where you can "Average" the control of the temperature. What this does is uses the average as the current thermostat temperature. IT KEEPS YOU HOUSE THE SAME TEMP! It works VERY well!GET THEM!

Nice remote, bad instructions on how to connect it.
Everything is fine with the remote, but Honeywell does not explain how to connect it very well. Their website does not provide much info either. Actually found the info on Youtube. Simple to do. Just have to do to the thermostat menu and go to the installer setting. Need the 4 digit pass code to do this.

Perfect companion to wireless focusPro
I got this in addition to the Redlink wireless FocusPro kit so that I could have control from more than one location. I added zoning to our upstairs HVAC system so that the master suite is on one zone and our home office, guest room, and guest bath are on the other.Prior to installing the upgrade the rooms would be drastically different. Our office would get uncomfortably hot during the day and we'd have to set the stat (in the master) to freezing cold to be comfortable in the other rooms. I added zoning and put the FocusPro in the office and the wireless comfort control in the guest room. We primarily control the system from the office stat but now if we have guests staying with us, they can select 'Sense temp from: This Device' in that room and they now have full control over the zone. The system has worked flawlessly so far for the two months I've had it installed. The first remote comfort control I ordered arrived completely dead, so I requested an exchange and the replacement worked fine and has had no problems. Both the FocusPro and the remote comfort control are excellent devices and are easy to use. We have been so happy (and comfortable) since this was installed. Installation was fast and easy.I cannot recommend this enough!
