Sony XMGS4 GS Series 4/3/2 Channel Hi-Res Amplifier (Black)

I’m installing this in my 1997 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) because my old one bit the dust. The packaging was of good quality and the size of this amp is considerably smaller than my old one. Only time will tell how this amp does. I mean... it’s going into a Jeep whose owner rides the majority of it with the windows off. Update: Wow! I can’t believe how much better the audio sounds. Now I can actually hear what I’m listening to. Perfect. Mine fits snugly underneath my passenger seat.i just drilled some pilot holes before I screwed the unit into the metal.

We’ve had sound systems installed in our vehicles over the years. This amp hangs with the best of them; the sound quality is amazing and very detailed. Make sure to get quality speakers installed.

I love the sound of this amp one of the best sounding amps I’ve heard on mid and highs I’ve been in car audio for over 30 years,the build quality is great my only gripe with this amp is the wire terminals I have it powering 2kicker 6.5 components in my 2007 Yukon xl and the sound is clear and articulate all I can say is great job Sony 👍🏾

I’ve been around car audio since I was 16. I’ve competed, sold it and even judged a competition once. I’ve hear A LOT of gear and I am truly impressed with this amp. The clarity is outstanding and the smaller size makes it easy to find a place to put it. I replaced my old school Alpine MRV F400s which I’ve owned since 1995 and the improvement was obvious immediately.

Crystal clear signal without distortion. No noise floor. Very lifelike and full bodied sound. Excellent SQ and build quality for cheap. This amp is a must have if you are getting the new Sony Mobile ES, or the Kenwood Excelon Reference speakers.

Installed this amp under the seat of my VW. Sounds fantastic even with factory speakers.

1. The output transistors are A1908 , C5100 these are high speed Japanese transistors designed for audio use mostly found in the classic Japanese amps . 2. The Input is single stage (Not double differential input stage) It is not a a fully complimentary amplifier but the design will meet all car audio applications . 3. The component selection of Mosfets , High Speed Diodes & Inductor of the voltage step-up circuit is good and robust with a clean output . There is not much buffer capacitance on the power lines , how-ever Sony has kept space for a larger capacitor on the PCB should someone would like to upgrade it . 4. PCB design and quality is good and handling of high current lines have been done well . 5. The chassis is well designed and robust , facilitates opening of the Amp easily to service common parts and has a built in fan cleverly placed . 6. The cross over circuit is good and works well and is of a practical design , it uses smd components , smd is yet not very well accepted in high end audio due various audio requirements . However ' The DC offset measured was 16mv on 3 channels and 32mv on one channel . The Amp is easy to set up and flexible with regard to input / output . Sound Quality --- I have a 4 way Active cross-over setup and this Amp for Mid range and human ear is most susceptible to distortion in the Mid range. The Amp plays clean with a warm sound in the lower mids and an accurate response all over . (Bench-marked using own made 8inch Mid Drivers X 8 units & Tannoy Dual Co-concentric x 12 units ) This is a very good Amp at it's price range and recommend it .

This amp is no nonsense, paired with Sony es speakers sounds like awesome, I have additional dsp installed which you may not, but is a serious but. I have not felt any heating yet, clarity and depth awesome, quality of build is no compromise full solid boards. I have no regret for investing on it.

I feel the material is hot , I am cool by the sony Company two year warranty..

I'm absolutely livid about the Sony car amplifier I ordered from Amazon. The moment I opened the package, it was clear this was a disaster. The amplifier was not only damaged but also clearly used and very, very old. I can't believe I spent my hard-earned money on this garbage. It's beyond frustrating to receive a product that's supposed to be in good condition, only to find it in such a deplorable state. I'm deeply disappointed with the seller's complete lack of care and honesty. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. I strongly advise against purchasing anything from this seller. This whole ordeal has been nothing but a waste of my time and money. Amazon should do a better job of vetting their sellers, and Sony should be more vigilant about the quality of products sold under their brand. This entire situation is infuriating, and I'm absolutely fuming.

I have installed it in my Honda CRV & sound quality is just awesome. I already heard other amplifiers sound, but it is the best. Also appreciated by my colleges & family members. If you have a budget of 14K definitely go for it, you will never regret it.
