No. It relies on gravity to hold the pliers in place.

I see all pictures show pliers facing same direction posable to face other direction ?

you can put the pliers in how you choose too. but I believe it works best as pictured.

The products actual size is 30"x5.5"x2.5". This seller may be putting it in a 3.7" high box. The problem with Amazon listings, if the first person that list a product puts in wrong information, it is a real problem to get Amazon to change the verbiage. Thanks Ben
