Unlikable characters and unbelievable adult responses
So a 14-year-old performs a sex act on another boy her age. This gets blasted all over social media. Then the mom made it all about her and what she did as a 22-year-old college student - acting like a 22-year-old is the same as a 14-year-old when it comes to sex. Seriously??? Then mom whined and droned on and on and on. And dad was no winner either - he was just a bully. And then we all just forgive each other and life is wonderful. I had forced myself to keep reading and when I got to the end of the book, I was just convinced all over again that the mom and dad were unconvincing cardboard figures. I'd find something else to read instead of reading this book......

A tad disappointed.
I have read all of this authors other books and have loved every single one of them so was excited when I saw she had another book out. This one just did not keep me interested though. I was very frustrated with this book. Frustrated with the lack of any real plot or story line development. It just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. While the subject matter was very important it just wasn't a very telling book. There was no real substance. How the mother tried to compare what happened to her to with what happened to her daughter just didn't ring true. They were completely unrelated incidences. I saw zero parallels. The mother was over the top on the whole thing and the dad's reaction was just the complete opposite which was baffling. I will try to read the next book this author writes but would probably not invest the money in buying it. I would just borrow it from the library.

Not sure...
I just finished this book, and I have kind of conflicting feelings about it. I definitely think that all middle and high school kids should read this, and all parents too who think that their kids cannot survive without phones. This technology and these kinds of things done with it are epidemic and bewildering. I know kids don't have good judgment skills but the fact that so many children think that it is perfectly acceptable to take nude photos of themselves, or others in situations like in the book, with zero thought to consequence can't be excused by the immaturity of the age. There seems to be a complete lack of consideration for self and others. Girls who respect themselves and their bodies would be far less likely to do this.In this book, I really liked Lily and Zoe's relationship, but so often it felt like I was reading about 18 year olds, not 14 year olds, both in the way the girls talked and how they were treated. Why would a girl of that age be allowed to go to a party with older teens, especially alone? Why were both girls allowed to be so disrespectful to their parents? Why did everyone walk on eggshells around Zoe, "not wanting her to feel bad," and screaming "trust her, trust her," when she had broken that trust by drinking and screwing around. I got so annoyed with that attitude toward Zoe. Then on the other hand, she and Price did not have mutual sex. She became a sexual object to please HIM, and never saw that. Boys do pressure girls, often very young girls, to do this, and girls comply so that they will be liked, etc. It is not a good thing for the girl, and nowhere in the book does Price take one ounce of responsibility for his action, nor did he have any consequence. No one would call him the horrible names they called Zoe.There was no mention of taking Zoe to be tested for STDs, which can also be transmitted orally. Girls need to know this. They also need to know that this is a sexual act, whether they are told that "it's not really sex," or not. The author did add resource information on cyberbullying, etc, but I feel she dropped the ball in educating girls about the realities of doing this to please boys, with no consideration of themselves as persons, not objects.SPOILER....I didn't like how they let Grace off the hook just because she felt bad. She committed a crime. They might have forgiven her personally, but that didn't change that fact. She had zero consequence for her actions.I didn't like at all that Emma had no substance to her. She spent her life blaming herself for one indiscretion, and the constant self flagellation got old. I think Bobby was a control freak and a sexual abuser.I really liked reading about their lives at the hotel on the beach. True stuff of fantasy.

A must read for parents of all youngsters. A great read of social significance
This is the long awaited new book by the wonderfully talented Rochelle B. Weinstein. It is her fourth book and promises to be a best seller about an important subject. Twin sisters seem to have it all. They are bright, talented and beautiful "besties". As you would expect from just turned fifteen years old, they are inexperienced and seemingly naïve . They are invited to a party. Lily stays home because she does not feel well. Her sister Zoe goes, meets a boy and they are served alcoholic beverages. They both have a bit too much to drink and inhibitions drop, and boundaries of discretion are crossed which could impact their lives possibly forever. Someone saw and the news spread like wildfire in school, , social media and then the mass internet.. From there we go on an emotional whirlwind involving, parents, their own secrets, classmates and the law.The portrayal of these events by Weinstein shows her mastery of the craft of writing. She researched her subject thoroughly and examined every nuance of what happensto the characters involved. She tells the story with skill, empathy and good taste. It is like a well directed movie.Congratulations on another meaningful book and a great read.As with her other books my life stood still until I finished it and discussed it with my wife This is a savvy book that should br read by parents of boys as well as girls. It shows that to every action there are consequences and reaction. Modern technology gets mometum going pretty quickly and the cell phone, social networks and the internet can be easily abused doing irreparable damage. This book will grab you right away. I found it hard to stop to eat my dinner, until I read nineteen chapters, Congratulations on another great book. I reviewed this book with a copy in advance of publication.

A modern problem told in an exceptional way. Storytelling at its best!
This author continues to inspire me with her talent for storytelling. It is a true gift to be able to take a topic and weave a story from it. This particular topic was so relevant in this technological era and something that I had not recently considered being a real danger. At first, I thought ' what's the big deal?' but when the author illustrates the impact on the family, it really hit home to me. I normally take such a long time to read a book - I find it a real effort sometimes due to my busy lifestyle but this was so smooth to read - it felt effortless. I was so connected with the mother in the story and at times I loathed the father. When an author can stimulate these emotions in the reader you know they have the art of writing mastered. The title and cover are also effective. Another winning title from a very talented writer. Highly recommended!

Don't expect too much
Was really looking forward to reading about a current topic of concern with much scope to show deep repercussions on both the victim and immediate family and peers.Unfortunately this was given such timid treatment that it almost insulted real victims of such a situation.A privileged family going through the, ever increasing, dramatic motions with the mother drawing parallels with a past secret indiscretion of her own (which turns out to have no connection whatsoever) cue much handwringing and declarations of love ad nauseum. A very disappointing read.

overwrought and slow
found it really hard to get to into the adult chatacters who are very 'unecessary drama' people i wanted to shake, as well as harmful outdated stereotypes (love at first sight hypocrites, angry dad, passive drama mum) The twins were interesting, but not enoigh to get me past 40 % complete. avoid.

Very topical dilemma
This book tackles sexual cyber crimes and their effect on a family - something that affects many teenage girls today, often with devastating consequences . The story explains all the emotional and legal ramifications that follow after 14 year old Zoe is secretly filmed with a boy at a party and the film is texted to her friends and then posted on the internet. The topic is sensitively handled and shows how the impact this has on many three families, with the focus on Zoe' s.

Very topical and relevant subject matter
The story addresses a very present danger of modern life, but I really wish it had been written better. So much "grabbing at eyes" made my own eyes water. It is however to be commended for tackling a difficult subject in a sensitive way.
