WWII US M1911 / 1911 .45 Wooden Grips - Reproduction

I like these wood grips better than the stock plastic grips and the $11.00 Magpul 1911 grips. The 1911 really fits my hand perfectly now. I just discovered 1911A1 TISA Turkish made Colt replicas. I love 1911s now!. They feel perfect in my hand. The wood grips make the pistol look better and handle better. They're a bit thicker than the stock grips. They're worth the $25 price tag. I recommend this selller.

Great grips , my .45 was supposed to be a exact 1911 replica... but it seems it wasn't . Grips didn't fit which sucks cause they're pretty awesome gripes! I will save them for a new 1911 . Thanks

They were definitely a bit too tall, and the bolt holes didn't line up. The right side holes only required a small amount (~.025") of filling. The left side would not allow the safety to be moved down and required a nearly ¼" x ¾" notch. The left side bolt holes also did not align. The pattern seems possibly to be hot stamped, but maybe it's engraved. I can recognize a pattern in the stippling from the pictures online and from side to side. There was a strong and odd odor, similar to burning plastic, maybe, when I first opened the packaging. Once fitted, I was actually quite pleased with them. Over the past 2 days, the smell has dissipated.

DO NOT BUY THESE GRIPS!!I purchased these grips for my 1943 dated 1911A1 to replace the originals that I want to keep in good shape.Upon inspection of the left grip panel I knew something was going to be off right from the go. The cut out for the slide stop/saftey plunger was not big enough and hte slide stop rubbed against the grip. That would be an easy fix with a little sandpaper and a dremel. However once I tried to fit the right panel i noticed that the holes do not line up with the grip posts. They are off just slightly on length and angle. Essentially I would have to bore out the holes which would make the grips sloppy.Then on the bottom of the grip it hangs below the magazine well. Again this would have to be taken care of with sand paper and a dremel.All of that being said these will be returned. The description stated "These are based on originals so we cannot confirm that they will fit all replica models or require minor changes."Then below that it states:"GRIPS MAY NOT FIT:5 model 1911s, colt service model/full sizeAll Standard Colt M1911 and M1911A1etc...Wont fit standard M1911A1 models???? If its based off the original then it absolutely should fit the Colt 1911 and A1.The amount of grinding and fitting needed to make these work will make these grips absolutely trash.

They are nicely made from quality hardwood and look just as advertised. They did fit, but not perfectly until I performed some precision file work which was easy enough. Now they fit exactly right at less than half the price of similar grips, very happy with this purchase.

Have looked a long time for a pair of grips like these. They are supposed to fit 1911 full size and commander. They do noy without slight modification. Enough mod that I can't return them. They are only $19 a pair but geez, very poor detailed craftmanship!!!

Dad said he had trouble putting one side on, but had eventually got it.

These grips are beautiful and fit my 1911 perfectly without any modification. Much better than expected and I highly recommend them!

Mine fit out of the package but required a slight amount of trimming on the left grip panel at the top left around the edge of the slide stop and on the right grip panel at the very top. Overall I'm quite impressed with the wood figuring and the checkering is perfect. Grips fit tight on the bushings and look excellent. IMHO these are an excellent buy for the money. The right grip panel is not cut for an ambidextrous safety.

Toll verarbeitet - Löcher stimmten überein, musste am Griff nur paar kleine Schleifarbeiten zur Passgenauigkeit beim Schlitten durchführen. Denke, dass das damit zu tun hat, dass ich kein Original Colt habe, sondern eine Nachahmung. Bei Bedarf sehr gerne wieder
