Primal Fuel Chocolate Coconut Whey Protein Powder, Gluten and Soy Free, 1.94 Pounds

I like this protein powder. Tastes great and the price is decent. Low carb and seems like it has clean ingredient. Nice to have when you need a quick protein snack or something when you are on the run.

I usually get the vanilla and was hesitant to try the chocolate. I will use it in shakes, in coffee, on its own either almond milk, and it always tastes great. You can taste some of the coconut, but it’s ever so slight and not at all dominant. I like the healthy dose of fats included, since I never seem to get enough. It’s slightly sweet (like cuts the bitterness of coffee) without being overwhelming and with no added sugar. It blends smoothly in cold and hot liquids, without a lot of stirring or shaking required. It’s not at all gritty like some powders I’ve tried. I’m a big fan!!

I like breakfast foods but I'm not a breakfast person. I just don't wake up with that type of appetite. Combine that with starting Paleo and I was having a hard time finding something to eat around mid-morning at the office. Luckily I found this stuff. I've tried this straight up with water and two scoops. Tastes very good. Just chocolatey with a hint of coconut. No weird smells or tastes. Tried it with a scoop of nut butter (Sunbutter) which is also good. Raspberries and blackberries are nice addition sometimes, but my favorite is just one whole banana. That combo just works. Add ice if you like it chilled. I've had this every morning for almost two weeks and I look forward to it each time. Since I get little sugar elsewhere the flavor of this is very satisfying. I wish it were a little more affordable, 2lbs makes 21 shakes, but I guess we're paying for quality and convenience so I understand. If anything maybe it will help you jumpstart Paleo with one less meal to plan.

I had been buying this for my morning protein shakes for about 6 months before they changed the formula. It was great! Smooth and tasty and dissolved perfectly in almond milk. I felt full all morning and liked the recyclable packaging. When my latest tub arrived in April, I contacted customer service because it was inedible. I thought I had gotten a bad batch or it was a mistake. There were white chunks that didn't dissolve and made it disgusting to drink. Customer service said this was not a mistake, this was their new formula, and recommended putting the powder in a food processor to break up the chunks. Not wanting to waste my money, I put some in my Magic Bullet blender since I don't own a food processor to try to break down those rock-hard chunks so I could at least use what I'd bought. It didn't make one bit of difference. This company has ruined what was used to be a great product and lost my business.

My biggest concern is that the container isn’t completely filled. The picture I added was immediately after opening, the canister wasn’t filled to the top. I’m sure I’ll still get the labeled amount of servings (I will be counting) but for now it’s kind of disappointing to buy a product and have it come 3/4 of the way full. This is decent tasting, it won’t make you gag, but I’d be hard pressed to say its delicious. But that’s really not an issue since I use this as a supplement not as a replacement for food AND it fits in with my paleo/primal food plan.

I've tried many protein shakes over the past 15 years and this is by far my favorite! I mix it in my Vitamix with water on low for a minute to get the powder fully dissolved. Then I add some ice and turn it on high. It truly is creamy and delicious. Two caveats: I love coconut and this does have a coconut flavor, so that is a plus for me, might not be for everyone. I use stevia in my coffee, so I don't notice a stevia aftertaste with this. If you don't like coconut or stevia this may not be your favorite. So many shakes I have tried need milk to make it good, not this one! Very creamy when blended in vitamix. Many I've tried are gritty to varying degrees. As I mixed it, it is not even remotely gritty or lumpy. When I'm on the go I've also used a blender bottle with the metal whisk ball in it. That does a good job too. Many shakes leave me hungry after an hour or two, but in all fairness they are fat free or very low fat. The coconut milk fat in this sustains me until lunch. This is the only protein shake that I feel is a true treat for me! Highly recommend!

If you like almond joys you will love this protein. Blends well and tastes like coconut chocolate brownie batter if not blended completely. So good my new favorite!!

I've used the product for several years now and it used to easily dissolve with a shaker and some water. I've received two shipments now and the powder doesn't fully dissolve into water. The result is a chunky shake with white floaties that aren't the most flavorful. I compared the ingredients to a few months ago and indeed there has been a change. Overall the flavor is still good, but the powder isn't easily dissolved and probably requires an a blender from here on out. I'm not convinced I'll be staying with the product anymore after I finish out my last 2 containers.
