Works great!
Bought this awhile back and used it a bunch for repairs, it works great in that part. Nice and small, doesn't take up much room on my work bench. I do wish the soldering iron side did have a faster way to shut down instead of holding the decrease button and then pressing it again to hold and turn it off. Also been having a little trouble trying to get the new tips tinned.

A perfect replacement to my simple temp controlled soldering iron, Except...
This device is simple to use and has great versatility with the included hot air gun. It also doesn't take up much more spartan my older soldering station. I've only used the hot air gun for shrinking shrink tubing and can't wait for a surface mount repair job to do.The problem: I think that the wires in the soldering iron cable are too thin for regular soldering use. The black wire broke after I used this station very intermittently for less than two years! I probably used it for a simple kit in 2023 and fixing things for about once or twice a month. Compared to my Weller unit, which I have had for over 20 years and is still going strong with only tip replacements, this unit simply does not compare well. I am very disappointed that it failed through a broken wire in the cable. You can see in the photo just how thin the wires are that are in the cable. I'm very surprised they have lasted even this long with only using it for one or two times a month! If you have serious soldering to do on a regular daily basis this is NOT the unit to buy!

Pretty Good
The media could not be loaded. The station overall feels pretty low quality but does its job pretty well. The temperature control is easy to use as well as the tools it comes with. Would not recommend you use the soldering tips it comes with, instead buy some 900M-T type soldering tips for the best performance. The sizes of the unit is very small and compact.

THIS is HOT STUFF...
I was weary what I would get opening the box, but I have to say I am delightfully impressed. The variable heat needed to melt solder was there and it came with 5 extra tips. The soldering tips are varied from needle point to chisel cut. All very good quality. AND, there is attached a hot air gun for shrink tube. I find this to be excellent, and when the gun is put in cradled, the heating element turns to cooling. You won't burn down your house (unless you're a goober). Bottom line, buy it! 72/73 K1LGQ NH.

Incredibly Dangerous
This is obviously a defect, and a dangerous one that nearly started a fire.I had the hot air and soldering iron plugs both in the machine. I turned on the hot air to use this for a project, and had the soldering iron it its cooling spring mount.I turned on the air, and only the air. When I looked up a few minutes later, the soldering irons tip, and about 1.5 inches down from the tip were glowing red hot. The soldering iron controls were off. With the controls on for the soldering iron, there is no temp control, it goes up to max temp and just sits there, glowing red hot. I have a lamp with a plastic base sitting next to the soldering iron spring, and it melted that.

Barely works at the highest setting
I had to place the temperatures at the highest settings to melt the solder. Even then, it did not melt fully. Occasionally it would work properly, but not frequent enough. It was also extremely difficult tinning the tips. I am not sure why, but I ended up using my old set for some projects.

Worked perfectly, and shipped fast
So, I needed to have a MOSFET transistor replaced on my vehicles engine control module. Searched for quotes and cheapest was $60 with a 48 hour turn around. This was unacceptable as my vehicle would not run without the module. So I purchased this, and fixed my circuit board within 10 minutes for half the price!

A good choice for beginners.
If you are a beginner like me you can't go wrong at this price. If you decide you don't enjoy the work or maybe you suck at it you're not out much. The "1 x Manual" in the packing list just proves that in addition to making a good soldering station Lerentong has a killer sense of humor.
