Just started doing small repairs on hvac lines, brazing small leaks. Been using map pro and others like it. Was able to use my buddy's account and get acetylene and looked at some cheaper torches but went with this since I plan to be using it for many years. Anyway I was thinking it may be better than the map stuff but was worried that it would not be worth the money and effort I put in for the set up. I was very very pleased. Did 4 practice brazes and man what a difference in seconds even my copper zinc rods I bought being cheap melted in a seconds. The 15% I bought are even faster. Definitely worth the investment. I went in on this due to a side job trying to braze with the map on a windy day it took me blocking the wind and about 20 mins to finally get the braze ok..I'm not sure how other torches are but this one is great Quality. If I was you and your starting out with a acetylene set up just drop the extra 100$ I'm Glad I did

TURBOTORCH 0386-0007 LP-2 Manual Torch Kit works like it should and costs less than what other suppliers charge. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to do some serious soldering.

Excellent torch! Replaced a screw handle Goss (couldn't get tips locally) with this one. The kit is real nice, the regulator/guage is in a sleek design. All durable enough for tough work.

I've been using this type of Torch for 25 years.I love it. And with the spark ignition this could be a game changer.

I needed to braze a small hole closed in the corner of a steel Jerry can. I first tried using MAPP gas with my old Bernzomatic propane torch. As expected, it was a no-go. The flame was weak & not hot enough to melt the bronze brazing rod. Received the Turbo Torch STK-9 this afternoon, screwed it onto the MAPP gas cylinder, got used to adjusting the valve, and went to work. The owner's manual has some nice pictures inside showing the user how to adjust the gas flow to get a nice hot flame. As a total newbie with brazing (first time!), this torch made it pretty easy. It pumped out the heat, getting the steel sheet metal nice & red hot. The brazing rod flux & bronze core melted nicely, flowing into the pinholes. This torch practically screams QUALITY, compared to the much less expensive Bernzomatic torch I've used for years. It's heavy, but nicely finished. Glad I bought it!

Lost my old one years ago, very happy to have found this one, brings in the heat really fast

i am a automotive mechanic i use it to heat nuts&bolts so they can be extracted easily cheaper and less money to operate
