12V LED Driver 15W 1.25A, Power Supply Unit, 240V AC to 12V DC Transformer, Constant Voltage Driver Adapter, Low Voltage Transformers for DIY Light Strips, LED Bulbs

Purchased so that I could replace my halogen lights to LED. This driver was a simple swap-out for the old transformer that was in place, which wouldn't work with the LED lamps. The unit is quite small, meaning that the terminals are also quite small and a little fiddly, but that doesn't detract too much from what is a good unit all-in-all. Time will tell on longevity of the device. Would probably purchase again should the need arise.

A nice compact unit which seems to work fine on 3 leds in a cabinet. However I did find it difficult to connect the cables. The connectors are small and slightly in an obstructed position.

A really good small unit that operates exactly as expected. The main benefit of this particular product is the size. It’s smaller than the competition that does exactly the same thing. That means I could get several of them into a singular waterproof enclosure outdoors.

The connectors are small and really inconvenient to wire - they are out of alignment with the entry point for the external wires, and it is not easy to poke the wires through the holes. I'm not a skilled electrician, but connecting the external wires took me much longer than it would need to if it were better designed. It would also be very easy to make the mistake of connecting the high voltage input to the output, the wrong way round: the correct connection is of course marked, but the high voltage and low voltage connectors are identical in appearance, the transformer is nearly symmetrical, and it would be easy to make a careless mistake. Although you have to unscrew a cover for both input and output connections, when you put the cover back, it does not clamp the wires in place, so the connecting mains voltage wires are held in place only by one tiny screw in a poorly designed connector. Nobody has given much thought to the design. The product is small, it works, but the connectors are so cheaply designed that it makes you wonder about the quality of the rest of it. I need 10 more LED drivers to replace the transformers I have for my halogen lighting system, and I will try to find a different brand.

Well made and Easy to fit work well

I Bought two of these transformers as I was changing my kitchen built in spot lights from Halogen to LED lamps. Fortunately I had plenty of room to work in as I has a lot of trouble fitting my wires into the connector blocks of these transformers. My wire ends were true and stong but I had majour issues.once you slacken the screws off on the connectors it should of been a straightforward job to insert the ends then secure once tighten. This was certainly not the case! a job that should of took a few minuets took about 30! There is resistance when you try to push the ends into the terminal, it refuces to accept them. the wires buckle and you have to try and force in with a small screw driver to insert enough to get a connection. Really stressful and difficult and not user friendly at all. the blocks are small to start with and there is a lip down into the connectors and its tricky hower easy enough if it was not for the issue where the terminals refuse the wire ends. once i got through the endurance session and difficulties in installing and was happy everything was wired correctly I put the power back on and they worked okay however there is a slight delay onn the lights, a fraction of a second. I can not emphasise enough, these are not user friendly and quite flimsey inside when trying to force the wires into the terminals, which you have to do and when balanced up on a ladder for much longer then should be needed this is totally unnecessary stress but some in a tighter situation will really struggle with these.

Bought this to replace the transformer in a 12V halogen light fitting. It's smaller than the transformer, so fitted in the space without trouble. The terminal connectors are small though, and getting the cables in is quite a challenge! However it drives the LED bulbs without any hint of a flicker and is cheaper than a whole new light unit.

Ho acquistato questo prodotto poiché avevo bisogno di alimentare a 12V un termostato montato a muro su una cassetta elettrica. Ho quindi scelto questo modello poiché ha le dimensioni giuste per essere alloggiato dentro la cassetta stessa. Qualche ora dopo il montaggio ho avuto la necessità di riaprire tutto poiché il termostato continuava a spegnermi e mi sono accorto che il trasformatore è un po’ caldo. Premettendo che so che l’utilizzo di questi apparecchi è fatto per alimentare dei led e quindi per un uso discontinuo che gli permetta di raffreddarsi quando non in uso, il mio tipo di utilizzo può essere un problema? Ho letto che ha comunque la protezione per eventuale alta temperatura che dovrebbe quindi disalimentarlo (e spero che eventualmente faccia il suo dovere perché se dovesse bruciare non è accessibile velocemente). Confido in una risposta del fornitore in merito a questo mio dubbio.
