Adventure Watch Perfection
Exactly what I’ve been looking for! This was a gift from my wife… I was getting sick of the notifications, the charging of my Apple Watch Ultra and the general over-reliance on excessively connected devices. (Don’t get me wrong, Apple Watch Ultra is awesome… however… sometimes I just want a rugged watch and this thing hits the spot!!)Large!!! Rugged!!! Cool features (compass and thermometer) AND Handsome!!! …also matches my weekend warrior adventuring look and utility.

Big and comfortable
This is the biggest watch I've ever worn, by far. I fully expected to try it and send it back. But it really is one of the most comfortable watches I have ever worn. It's very lightweight, and the diameter is just not an issue at all. If you are worried about the size, I would say to try it.

Excellent Watch at a Great Price
G-Shock watches are rugged by design. The Mud Master line are particularly durable. This watch is no exception. It's a beautiful timepiece, and the price it was bought for was more than reasonable.

Great Looking & Rugged - Many PROS and a few (Possible) CONS
I got this model because I was looking for a rugged Work Watch and for me it's hands down, the coolest looking G-Shock in their Line-Up. I hesitated buying it because of the dimensions (55mm) as I normally wear a 42mm and thought it might look ridiculously huge on my 7 1/2 inch wrists and would be knocking it all the time but for some reason, it doesn’t feel as gigantic as I thought it would. I’m often wearing long sleeve shirts and work gloves so maybe if you’re just wearing a short sleeve t-shirt it might look huge but it’s very comfortable and very light-weight and just plain looks cool. One of the main draws for me was the design, I absolutely love the color scheme and the negative display but be aware, as cool as it looks, the negative display isn’t always visible depending on the light you are in (see attached images)…but to be honest, I like that all of the displays are not front and center every time I look at the watch. I don’t need to see everything, all at once, all the time… it makes the display too busy for me.. In almost every circumstance, those displays have been readable so it hasn’t been an issue. Additionally, the windows that have the negative display contain Secondary Information… like the Day/Date/ 24 Hour Time/Compass/Temperature… so 95% of the time, I don’t need to see the Day and Date every time I look at the watch (though I almost always do see it)Once you know the day and date, you know for the rest of the day.. it’s not going to change…and if you like using the 24 Hour Clock, you already know how to calculate the time just looking at the analog hands, so you don’t need the display read out…same goes for the other read outs.. How often will you need to know your Compass Bearing in Degrees (the second hand points north so you don’t need the display) and the Temperature gauge only gives you an accurate reading when it’s off your wrist (your body heat affects the read out) so the fact that those windows might not always be visible, is a non-issue for me but if it will bug you, get one of the other models. For me the gray background on the positive display just reeks of “cheap digital” while the negative display is so much sleeker and this model also has the 5-Minute markers blacked out for added stealth… just plain coolI absolutely love this watch. In my opinion, the best looking G-Shock ever made.PROS: Great looking / Rugged / Light-weight / Comfortable / Easy-to-Read Analog Hands / Large Buttons for easy access / Cool Features (Alarms/Compass/Temperature Gauge/24Hr Clock/Countdown Time/Stopwatch/World Time/Dial Light) / PRICE-Originally released at $320 but got it for $200Possible CONS: Negative display not always visible / Alarm Beep could be louder (I can’t aways hear it) / Temperature gauge only gives you an accurate reading when it’s off your wrist (your body heat affects the read out) / Being a combo Analog-Digital, the hands sometimes cover up the digital windows and obscure the Day/Date / Learning curve setting it up (wasn’t familiar with digital watches) but found a Youtube video that explained it all very easilyOverall, I love this watch and give it Four Stars but can see where others might be put off by some of the possible Cons.

Watch perfect; seller not so much…
Received my new Mudmaster, and it is awesome. Huge, but awesome. The function, fit, and quality of this line of watches is great. I never thought I would buy a more expensive G-Shock as the others I own are great, but this one is steps ahead. The compass feature works, there are all of the world’s time zones, and it looks amazing. The ONLY downside, is the black digital display is a little hard to read. Now, the seller. The watch was Prime, scheduled to arrive in two days. Nine days later, my watch showed up. It wasn’t an issue with shipping, it didn’t get placed for shipment until later, so it was on the seller. The box it was shipped in was perfect, but the Casio box was heavily damaged, telling me that it was placed in the shipping box that way. The metal box the watch came in wasn’t damaged in any way, but it was a let down the actual Casio box was. There were also fingerprints on the back of the watch case, so the watch had been handled by someone before it arrived to me. Maybe it was a return, maybe not, I don’t know. All in all, I love the watch and it is my new go to for everyday wear. However, the seller could have done a much better job in getting me my new watch, in a like new box, in new condition.

Great Timepiece
Even though this watch is large, it wears very comfortably on the wrist. I looked at various renditions of the Mudmaster but found this one the most visually appealing of them all. The indices illuminate after being exposed to a light source, as well as the all the hands, allowing for legibility in low light conditions. If you’re searching for a nice looking, functional watch, look no further than the Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GG-1000.
