BambooMN - 5mm Semi-Point Candy Apple Bamboo Skewers - 6.5" (16.5cm) - 100 Pieces

Every year for 4th of July I grill for about 30 - 35 people. One of the crown jewels of the day is my corn on the cob. For the past two years I was looking for the carnival/street vendor/amusement park still holding stick. These were perfect. Each held a half ear very easily. I'm positive they would have held the hole ear, but for serving purpose we only used half. Make holding one outdoors while you are socializing ever easy. One suggestion if you are every making mass quantities. Have a cordless drill next to you. you can quickly drill a pilot hole and it make the insertion of these think bamboo skewers much easier. Again, not needed, but for mass it helps speed up the process.

Use these how I did at your own risk. OK, I realize these are made to skewer food, but they work great with my Cold Steel Professional 4ft blowgun. Use these at your own risk, like I said. The length is almost perfect for size and balance when used in conjunction with the back end of a stun dart. The plastic stun darts separate the "dum-dum" front end from the cone back end. The back end (cone end) of a plastic stun dart inside diameter is just a little bigger than 5mm. With a couple wraps of teflon tape, these skewers fit snugly into the cone end of the stun dart, and they generally stay put. These skewers are straighter and stronger and shorter than the original bamboo skewers that came with my blow gun, but the weight is close to the same due to the decreased length compared to the longer, thinner skewers. I had used some 3mm skewers, and they were pretty good, but I had to cut them in 1/2 and wrap more tape around them than the 5mm diameter skewers. These are almost all perfectly uniform, and minus the couple wraps of teflon tape, very little effort to get them up and running.

I was searching for "sticks" to have the kids make caramel apples at a Halloween party, without breaking the piggy bank. Those I found locally that were "cheap" were generally not considered food grade. Food grade sticks locally I would get maybe a dozen for the cost of these and they were generally not sturdy or long enough for kids hands to hold steady. These are are perfect in length and strength as well as price. Even the adults at the party got into making their favorite caramel apples.

Heavy duty! Virtually unbreakable as they are made of bamboo! Will purchase again. If you need a sturdy skewer, this is it! Much thicker and sturdier than most. I bought them for making fruit kabobs for a small child's party. I was worried about sticks that were too sharp. These are somewhat blunted at the tip, making them safer. However, with the bluntness and thickness, the grapes I put on the skewers would often split. They work better for melon. Keep the blunted tip and thickness in mind when deciding if this is right for you!

I bought these bamboo sticks for the chocolate covered caramel apples that I make as gifts. For some reason, popsicle sticks seem to be the norm when making any candied apple, but these are better. The stick is sturdy, easily inserted, great for dipping the apple in both the caramel and chocolate. Once the apple is ready for wrapping, cellophane and ribbon attach easily to these sticks with no gaps. Perfect and sturdy.

Knife holders (those blocks with slots in wood) are a pain. Can never find the right slot for the right knife. And when you get an extra knife or two, where do you put it? So using some thin Bamboo chopping blocks, and these 5 mm skewers I mad a tilted box, filling it full of these skewers, pointed end up. Now, I just stick my knives into the box. The skewers hold the knives in place, and I can stick any knife anywhere. When it gets dirty, I just wash the skewers, an let them dry, and back in they go. . Besides that, it really looks neat! Have pictures, and will post them when I find out how. .

I used them for Halloween, for my candy apples. It was the perfect size and lengths. Couldn't find them in the store.
