John Mayer Live: The Great Guitar Performances (Play It Like It Is Guitar)

I have been waiting for this for so long. A tabbed out version of Covered in Rain. Honestly it is about 7 years too late. But I would have KILLED for this at the beginning of my guitar journey when I obsessively played john mayer 24 hours a day. Now i've gotten accustomed to doing this on my own. But still this book is robust and amazing. So buy it, worth EVERY penny.

There's one review where someone mentions the fingerings appear to be different than what JM actually uses live. That's a valid point, and I would have been really impressed if they'd gotten it right at that level, but I haven't found any place where the notes or timing is wrong.

Let me be clear this book has excellent transcriptions, you won't find any better online. It's a great learning tool....but it could be better. The problem is that it doesn't have enough variety in the pieces it contains, it should be called "John Mayer : Where The Light Is" tab book. There are 14 tracks, 11 of which are from where the light is. It's a great performance no doubt but there are so many others that deserve to be on a book titled "John Mayer Live: The Great Guitar Performances". What about "Man On The Side" and "Back To You" from Any Given Thursday? Or "Come Back To Bed" and "New Deep" from As/Is Volume 4 and 5? All of which are performances that contain some of his best lead guitar work. So in short: good book, not great,excellent transcriptions, mis-titled, not enough variety. Tab seems very accurate and there is a lot of great stuff in this book

Après des années à tomber sur des tablatures peu convaincantes et à tenter de déchiffrer à l'oreille certaines phrases de Mayer lors du mythique live à Los Angeles, cet ouvrage tombe très bien ! Les accords, les paroles et tous ces licks retranscrit, parfait, plus qu'a attendre un volume 2 avec le reste de la setlist !
