This handy unit comes with clips to hold it in place on the pot or pan that you must drain. The liquid comes out easily, holding back the solids that you wish to retain in the pot or pan. (NOTE: This device can be too short for your needs, if you are preparing a large quantity of food.) In my case, we make so much macaroni and cheese at one time, that approximately 5 to 6 boxes of Kraft dinner macaroni are in the pot boiling before we even start the recipe.Draining the water from that quantity of macaroni pasta required a little extra help from a strainer outside this clamped-on colander, just to catch the bit of overflow.All in all, that is the only complaint I have for this object. It is inexpensive, it adheres to any pot/pan, and it holds back the solids while you remove the excess fluid from your recipe. While individual results may vary, this is a handy gadget for my kitchen. Probably yours too!For all but the biggest preparations, this handy unit is all you will need.

I was skeptical that this would really work well or be decent quality, but so far I have used them on several sized pots and run them through the dishwasher several times and they are great! They barely take up any space and I have yet to lose a single noodle during use.They go through the dishwasher nicely and are also easy to hand wash. They clip onto a pot easily and are designed so that noodles won't escape. They are sturdy and clip on tightly, as well, so I haven't had any concerns about them falling off. These are perfect for solo cooks and people without a lot of space. One of my favorite kitchen gadgets to make cooking easier.

Doesn’t quite drain well, but the storage and cleaning it is simple

This is the only strainer I have now. We use all the time. Easy to use and small so easy to store. Cleaning is a breeze and we also put in dishwasher without issue.
