Nikon D5500 (Expanded Guides)

If you own a D5500 and want to take full advantage of all of it's capabilities beyond the crappy, cryptic manual - get this book. Small enough for your camera bag yet PACKED with tons of useful info. Lots of real life professional examples and suggestions as well as some pop out cheat cards for your wallet or purse. The authors suggestions are spot on and this book really helped me get the most out of this great camera!

I also have this book for other models of Nikon cameras and it's approach to explaining the camera's features are well done. The books physical properties are high quality material and printing.It's not like the owners manual, although it has all the same info. It really is more of the guide it claims to be in the title. Utilizing more of a hands-on approach.The vender had a great price on this manual, as a new product, but when I received it it was in great shape and really did look new, except the Quick Reference Card was missing. I messaged the vender and asked them to send the card out of one of the used ones but they declined. I like to have that available when i use the camera, it's a thick card that stands up to being utilized and has a summary format to it making it easy to use.Yet I'm fortunate to have even gotten the book (printed in England) and at a good price and properly shipped.

This is much better than what arrives with the camera. It is well laid out, colourful and well illustrated. It delves into all the modes and functions offered. Good to know about them even if many are not regularly used. The author, Jon Sparks adds many of his own creative images to the pages. An excellent guide to keep handy for ongoing reference. It also encourages the user to get interested in other fields of photography, including macro.Have found explanation of focus modes helpful. The quide disperses any mystique associated with a Nikon digital SLR.

The book is compact, well written and informative. I have been using the D5500 for a while now before buying this book. I was not aware of some of the information in the book. In particular, how the focus modes work differently in live view, and how auto-iso worked.

Good Book, lot of info and showed me how to use some features I was not aware of.

Lots of great information on taking pictures in all kinds of situations. Very informative and written in a very comprehensible way!

Since I bought my D5500 used with no manual (although I've had the D5100 and D7000) I wanted a reference besides the Nikon manual on the computer; this is a basic reference for someone just starting out who is not familiar with a Nikon DSLR at all BUT beware it lacks in depth Index so looking up specific camera adjustments is difficult. Almost No information of the many opportunities within the Picture Control System for a primary example and nothing like other 3rd party camera books that gives a hint of why you would want to select any of the many camera adjust choices!

I have been using my d5500 for about a year and have relied on the reference manual to sort out any problems . This expanded guide puts a new dimension on the cameras use. There are settings described which I never knew existed. I would highly recommend anyone with this camera, or any other in the series, to purchase this guide. It is a must for any budding photographer.
