What's the difference between this system and the dakota alert dcma-2500 driveway motion alert kit, which costs 3-1/2 times as much?

They no longer manufacture the 2500 which is why the price is so high. Go with the 4000 since you soon will not be able to buy components for the 2500. The 4000 receiver is smaller with the addition of a light and is a much better design.

How long does the battery last?

Mine have been working for 16 months without being replaced. And they trigger probably 4 times a day minimum.

On the dakota alert dcma-4000 wireless detector driveway alarm system can the transmitter send signal to two receivers at same time?

Can you power this with POE?

Sorry, Power Over Ethernet is not an option. The receiver is powered via a plug in transformer that goes from 110 VAC to 12 VDC.

Excellent driveway detector

Works well, sometime false alarms from weeping willow branches 9 volt battery is ideal for long life and easy change out Solar units didn't work under trees in NE Alarm tone not too obnoxious and is changeable So far best we've had. AA battery units didn't last and battery terminal board cracked. Trashed them and the solars. Primary reason to buy was 9 volt transmitters So far, would buy again

You will need to use a UK plug if using in UK

I brought this as an upgrade to the older 2500/3000 series' It comes with a USA 110v power supply so if using in the UK you will need to source a power supply. I was lucky because the old UK power supply I was using on the old system fitted. Is a good upgrade on the older system and is more reliable at detecting vehicles.
