Q: Can i use these for double sided razor combs?

i would say yes. i had one of those combs way back when.

Q: interested in straight razor shaving with a shavette. Anyone have experience with "folding the blade in half"? Seems dangerous to try.

Old question but jeeze it's not dangerous to break the blade. Leave it in the paper and fold it in half until it snaps. Won't cut you unless your trying to cut yourself with it.

Q: How do these compare to derby blades?

Derby suck and cost more but I highly recommend the dorco prime for $11 I’ve cut hair for 30 years and they are by far the sharpest and best quality blades I’ve used. Derby you’ll have to throw out 10 outta the 100 before even using them cuz there faulty. I think I had 2 out of the last 200 of dorco prime and that is a high defect ratio for the prime
