Excellent thermometer,,,,
Easy to set up and maintain. I bought one in 2018 and the sensor has endured getting blown off its hook soaking wet, frozen in ice and snow. Just plain suffered immensely and held up like a champ. Iโd dry it out ,new batteries and it bounced right back. 6 winters and steamy, wet summers the sensor finally died not owing me a thing. Iโll say this is a very durable unit, and didnt think twice buying another identical thermometer. The indoor monitor has simple, attractive display with a small footprint. Money well spent

AcuRite 02059M
I like it.... I wanted one that's easy to see/read, simple not a whole weather station. It has just the information that's important to me: 1st the outside temperature, 2nd the time of day, 3rd the indoor temperature. It's compact, does not take up a lot of space. Pretty easy to set up. Uses standard AA alkaline batteries. You can hang the sensor up anywhere you want to. Very accurate. Like I said, I like it.

LARGE Display NUMBERS, drawbacks are setup/viewing buttons on back of indoor unit and AAA batteries.
This review is for the AcuRite Model 02059M Digital Thermometer. I bought this model to replace my older AcuRite model 00771 pictured on the left in photos, which is similar to the model 00754. I have used the older model for approx. 12 years, and 2 months ago the base (indoor) unit developed the problem of not maintaining the signal connection with the outdoor sensor, I replaced the batteries in both the outdoor sensor and base unit, and switched both the sensor and the base unit frequency setting from "A" to "B", but that did not remedy the problem. From the photos you can see that BOTH the Model 02059M and the older model are displaying the same time and temperatures since being placed into side-by-side operation upon delivery of the new Model 02059M on 20 January 2024. BOTH models are receiving the outdoor signal from the old sensor of the Model 00771 which was purchased approx. 12 years ago, the outdoor sensor is placed only approx. 14 feet from both indoor units. The old model base unit is still exhibiting intermittent loss of the signal from the outdoor sensor, but the new 02059M model has maintained the signal connection continuously as expected. ACCURACY ?? - EXCELLENT, the displayed indoor temperature of both AcuRite models matches the 71 DEGREES of the mercury Fisher Scientific Thermometer displayed in the two photos, the outdoor temperature of 34 DEGREES matches the reading on a very old Taylor brand 8-inch glass tube thermometer just 2 feet away from the sensor unit, the Taylor unit has been verified to match the readings of the Scientific Thermometer over the entire range of its graduated scale from -15 to +115 F degrees. STAR RATING ?? - I only gave the AcuRite 02059M model a 4-star rating since it uses 3 AAA-size batteries versus the 3 AA-size batteries of the older model, but my reasonable expectation is for the AAA's to last at least 1-year. Just a shame AcuRite didn't design the plastic casing to accommodate the larger AA-size batteries which are my personal preference in this type of device. I will upgrade my star rating to 5-stars next year, IF I have determined that the alkaline AAA batteries perform to my expectation !!

Accuracy
Registers accurately, easy to read. The price was for the complete unit is just $3 more than the price of the outdoor unit only at time of purchase in 2025.

Works with older transmitters
After 35 year of using an older version of this display, the display had several segments fail. Since I had made a custom mounting for the original transmitter, I was reluctant to replace it. I was presently surprised when I received the new unit, inserted the batteries and it instantly connected at the old transmitter. I'll keep the new transmitter as a backup.

Unreliable outside temperature reading
I replaced a smaller version of this one that worked great for several years. The outside unit is mounted out of the sun and rain on the north side of the house, and sometimes displays the proper temperature. But other times (like now) it reads10-12 degrees too high, based on local weather information. For example it's displaying 85 as I write this when the actual temperature is 72. But tomorrow at this time it might be accurate. The inside temp reading always seems to be right. Ha, just as I wrote this, the displayed temperature dropped to 73! And all I did was pick up the outside unit and set it back down. I'm not sure what to do here since I've had it for a few months and it probably can't be returned. The display is very easy to read from across the room, so it has that going for it. If only I could get some consistency out of it. I'm giving it only one-star because it doesn't work reliably. Could easily be a four-star product. Update: Well, the problem is definitely caused by the outside sensor literally taking hours to respond to a temperature change. I can bring it inside and set it next the the inside display/sensor, and it takes several hours to go from, let's say 95 degrees, to 76. The smaller version I used in the past would respond in just a few minutes. What this means is on day that begins at 80 and goes up to 100, the outside sensor is still showing only 90 several hours after the temperature has gone up to 100. Guess I'll have to find another vendor. Kind of a shame because the display is big and bright.

Great thermometer.
Very reliable once I found a location without ambient heat to place the outdoor unit. The clock is a bonus!

It partially works
I bought this model because its temperature sensor is the correct model I also need to talk to two older Acurite stations I own. The new display station works fine. The sensor, a 00592TX, specifically lists my other two stations on its compatibility list - in fact it is the model of sensor the website says I would need to order for both as a replacement. The temperature gets sent to my other two older stations fine, however one of my stations also has a humidity reading. Unfortunately this sensor is not transmitting the humidity to that station. It just says one percent all the time. My old sensor used to transmit the humidity just fine... until it died after 10 years of faithful use. I followed the instructions for resetting everything a number of times, and trying different channels, but no matter what I do, it still says 1% humidity. This model of sensor is listed on their website as handling both temperature and humidity, so I don't understand why it doesn't work. The temperature is the most important thing to me, and since it takes a week to ship to the UK, I'm not going to bother returning it. I guess I can live without the humidity reading. I am disappointed about this humidity feature not functioning, but the new temperature station does work, and its sensor does transmit temperature just fine to all three devices.

Simple temperature sensor with Access integration.
I bought this Display/Thermometer combination for use in my greenhouse on the recommendation of Acurite staff and ordered from Amazon.ca due to shipping costs and the border "lock down". The display will support up to 3 remote sensors and you just have to hit a button on the back to cycle through stations A, B and C (which you set in the remote sensor) or to have the display cycle for you. The remote sensor that this comes with will connect to Acurite Access (which is what I wanted to monitor the temperature from my phone) but it will take a few minutes after the batteries are installed for it to appear (have patience). My only issue with the display is that it does not display temperature decimals.
