nice quality and good variety for a beginner
I am new to wire work and I have decided copper is the material I want to work with. It is not nearly as expensive as silver or gold, and I like the warm, earthy tone. I was looking for a good collection of copper wire to practice with and I happened across this. It appealed to me initially because of the number of gauges included (18, 20, 22, 24, 26, and 28). I wasn't sure what I wanted or needed to start with, but that seemed to span quite a range.Anyway, I'm not any kind of expert, but I find this to be really nice wire. It is round in shape but I'm cool with that; I'm not ready to work with different shapes of wire. Let me learn one shape first! It is listed as dead soft and I do find it quite easy to work with, so I can believe that. It has a lovely red copper finish. I did not unwind any of the spools to measure the amount you get, but I find the lengths in the product listing believable based on the size/weight of the coils and spools. My flush cutters cut it pretty nicely and I did buy a tool with a wire burr rounder attachment for smoothing out the ends; that seems to be doing the trick here (at least on the 20, 22, and 24 gauges, which are the only ones I've tried it on so far).So far I haven't generated anything worth showing to anyone, but that's OK. I bought this for practice and practice is what I'm doing. The narrower gauges work with my wire knitting tools and the medium/larger gauges work with some of the various wire jigs I've acquired. I am getting better at work-hardening the wire, too. Anyway, I'll definitely be buying this set again, or possibly individual spools from the same maker, depending on what gauge(s) I end up finishing off first. Very happy with the quality and variety!

Great assortment...
...good to have all of these sizes. And what great a way to see what you use most and should buy in larger quantities. It's worked nicely, both wire working and adding patinas. Great vendor. Not my first order with them.

A Nice Beginner's Assortment - Just Don't Use for Torch Work
I am new to wirewrapping, but definitely not new in working with wire - I've been making my own copper and sterling silver ball head pins and various other jewelry parts requiring the use of a torch for years. This is a very nice variety pack that I would recommend to anyone who is not sure if they want to commit to buying larger quantities of wire - the temper is good, and the wire seems to hold up well as far as not breaking excessively during wire wrapping. However, I would like to say that there is something a little strange about this copper wire - in trying to add decorative ball ends to finished wire wrapped pieces, this wire would not melt correctly - it would discolor and blacken, but would absolutely not form a ball end. I thought at first that maybe I was doing something wrong - but I tried doing the same thing with some sterling silver wire I have, and had no problem with forming the ball ends. I have been in touch with the seller regarding this issue, and while he did respond initially, I have not heard back from him as to what the problem might be. I have also noticed that this wire seems to oxidize just a tiny bit faster than some lots of copper wire I have used in the past. None of this is a deal breaker, as long as you're not wanting to do any torch work. Otherwise it's fine - a nice assortment of sizes, the smaller gauges are wound on spools, and everything is labeled clearly.

Great sample set
I am just dabbling in wire wrapping and found this set to be very useful, not only to become acquainted with gauge size but the amount offered is enough for practicing. I did buy the other set: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GUBNWUM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which has the larger gauges. I did not find I had much use for them since they are just too big for jewelry. For the amount offered I did find I used mostly the 20g and 24g. The 26g and 28g are great for threading and tying the wires together. Having those in spools are a great help. If you are starting out, definitely try this set, there is enough wire to experiment with.

Perfect for wire wrapping.
This is a great deal. It has all the gauges of wire I need. The wire is dead soft and I found it very easy to work with. I'm fairly new to wire wrapping but of all the wire I have used this is my favorite to work with. I like how the 26 and 28 gauge wire came on a spool. I have used weaving wire that wasn't on a spool and it was a nightmare to deal with. I would say if you are someone new to wire wrapping don't hesitate to get this. It is exactly what you need.
