Fairy Houses (The Fairy Houses Series®)

I did a Girl Scout Fairy house day camp. We read the story and explained what fairy houses really do for our bugs. The girls divided into small groups and built fairy houses all over our town park. The only rule was everything they used had to come from nature. You would not believe how imaginative the girls got. It’s years later now but the girls still talk about it and teach others all about it. We had many other projects around this, leading up to the big final. Like mature mobiles. It was a blast of a day camp.

This is a fabulous book for children. It gets you out of the house an out in the yard searching for the perfect materials for fairy houses. All natural, all having been discarded by nature already. The perfect sticks, seeds, fallen leaves or maybe some shells at the beach. All free and always available no matter what time of year...unless you do a better job than I getting your yard ready for winter. And then you take your materials and build a perfect house to leave for the fairies. This has been such a fun activity with our grandchildren. When I recently was invited to a baby shower with the theme of "bring your favorite childrens book" it was the first book I thought of to order.

my afterschool children loved the story. Very informative about the legend of fairies and their homes. The following day I had the children outside creating very funfilled & creatives houses.

My daughter loves fairies and we have made our fair share of fairy houses! This book follows a child who gets immersed in the wonderful world of nature and fairy houses. It teaches children how to respect nature and all the animals that we share this world with. We've read some of the other fairy series books, my daughter particularly enjoys the ones with actual photos of fairy houses that people have built. It gives her ideas on how to make ones herself.

I bought this for my grandson and I am told that he really enjoyed reading it especially as the main charactor was a young boy like him. Curious and fanciful. I have incouraged his imagination with tales of fairies since he was small and asked me to tell him stories before we went to sleep at night. I highly recommend it for the young boys in your lives! A love of reading is one of the greatest gifts you can give your children and grandchildren. They can travel the world while safe in their homes!

My kids decided they wanted to make a Fairy house and I was referred by a friend for this book. It is absolutely a darling story. The illustrations are well designed and so exciting for the kids to look through. This is an absolute great book and one that will be handed down generation to generation.

It was such a treat to watch our daughter light up when reading this book for the first time. I am particular about the books I read to our child and this book will not disappoint. It's sweet, mindful of nature and a pure delight for little girls, (and their mothers)! We also love the connection to Maine; this book is a must for any little girl who loves fairies and lives in or has visited the great state of Maine!

Was so happy to find this book. I told the story to my 4-year old the next morning and planned our own fairy house right away. Simple but inspiring.
