I was nervous when ordering it cause I wanted to make sure the lines inside weren’t too big and saw another review stating it was college ruled and it truly is! Great job making this book! I can’t say that enough the leather is soft and smells amazing. The pages are thick and perfectly lined. The wrap around strap was a little long when feeding the key into the holding strap all I did was fed the end back a little and added a second slip knot and it fits perfectly and as I add items and it gets bigger I can remove it to accommodate. I truly recommend this great purchase.

Most vintage journals that I have come across on this website doesn't have lined paper within their pages, which greatly disheartened me. Most, if not all, of the listed items only possessed blank paper. Not saying that it is a bad thing, especially for illustration artists, but as a writer who wants to have her words to be as organized as possible, nothing really caught my eye until I came across this product.This journal looks like something that came out of a adventure fiction novel or movie. Those mystic, ancient books that had foreign language written in them from first to last page with depictions here and there with directions that lead to treasure or a whole new world? This is that book.I was very hesitant with purchasing this journal at first because I believed that the size wouldn't fit my standards. However, I compared the dimensions to a journal I already have and realized that the size isn't as small as I originally thought. (The size of this product that I bought is 7" x 5". The journal used in comparison as shown in the photo set is 8 1/8" x 5 1/2".)The leather is soft and the metal key attached to the strap is so cool! The pages within the journal are vintage as advertised: somewhat rough, but not unbearably coarse that you can't write on it.The lined pages within the journal all have 24 lines each, the perfect standard amount for getting your thoughts on paper.I've seen other buyers's reviews and the only issue I have seen shown up repeatedly was the revolting, overbearing smell of the journal. However, I didn't come across that at all. I was on the lookout for this when I opened the package for the first time and other than the standard leather scent, which I had to hold close to my nose to smell, no red flags popped up to me. Perhaps those journals were newly made before being shipped out to buyers or another variable that I can't think of so it's important to keep this in mind, just in case.It is noted that writing in pen/ink is more recommended than writing in pencil/graphite with this book. Not only will the sharpness of the graphite damage the quality of the paper, but so can the eraser when you try to get rid of mistakes. I asked the seller this question and tested it out myself the first day I've gotten the journal, which came to this shared result. If you're very adamant with using pencil, I advise you to be very cautious and careful.Overall, I believe that this product is a very good purchase. Whether it be for yourself or for a loved one who also loves to write, this vintage journal would be a lovely gift and this is coming from someone who bought this for herself as a late birthday gift. I would've written this review sooner, but I truly didn't want to put down the journal in order to do so. XD.

OMG - I literally just got this and took out of packaging. I love it! Leather feels good and the pages feel like almost cloth. Obviously I haven’t written in it but I can’t wait to start journaling in it. I haven’t decided if I want to use as an every day journal or use it for our travels. Maybe I’ll have to buy another (I’ll wait until I write in it first). But I’m in love with it already.

I do like this journal very much. I love how it feels old like it’s been in the family for decades. The stained pages are a good touch. I haven’t yet written in it but when I do I will come back and add to the review to show how it holds up to a lot of usage

This journal begs to be engaged with in every way. The leather feels amazing, the pages are super thick, beautiful, and yes college ruled unlike many others. Every time I pick it up, I’m inspired to write! I use this journal as my personal, inner philosophical thoughts, and to write my interpretation or variant on others’ writings in order to bolster my own understanding of various topics and ideas.
