ArtisElite Smoke Linear 1 Makeup Brush

I've never had a brush work this well for eyebrows, and it's so quick and easy. I also use it to contour the sides of my nose and occasionally to apply shadow to my lash line or crease line.

I am a makeup novice, but I do like to play with it. Artis brushes seemed overpriced, like something only experts should even try their hands at, but I had the opportunity to get this Artis Elite Linear 1 brush and I'm glad I did!The box for a single brush is huge, and it's mostly air inside. However, the packaging does work to hold the brush tightly in place so nothing bends or crushes the bristles on transport. It is definitely a statement packaging. The brush itself is very soft, and it feels nice to hold.I am weak for a sharp catseye liner, but it usually takes me a good half hour to get anything resembling a shape I'm okay with (needing to do your eye makeup without your glasses on certainly doesn't help me). I was hoping that this brush would wham bam thank you ma'am my catseye, but... well, it might have been the cheap and quite old product I was using, but I was underwhelmed with the results. I washed it off and was shocked at how easily it cleaned with a brush cleaner mat. All of the product seemed to stay on the outside of the brush, making cleaning simple. It dried fast too.The next day, I tried again. Instead of using a cream liner and going for a sharp catseye, I looked up the official Artis video for this brush and then tried some brow powder. I ran the brush along the bottom of my brows to define them and feathered up into the brow and... whoa. Three seconds to a satisfactory brow. On BOTH sides. I tried the powder again as a liner for a less sharp look, and bam. Three seconds for my right eye to be evenly lined. Left eye took a bit longer, but not by much.I need to get some better eyeliner product to try with this brush, but I am IMPRESSED. $37 still seems expensive for the size of this brush, but on the other hand, the ease of use for a total novice? I'm just going to save so much TIME.This brush has become my favorite makeup brush overnight. I am still in awe of it. Wow.

This Linear Elite Finish brush, in size 1, has a pretty limited use, basically it’s really just for eyebrows or eyeliner. The thing about it though, is that it takes some getting used to, or requires some learning, to use it right. It can hold a fair amount too. The brush is a different shape than you’d expect, it is rounded at the tips and a little wide, so it is hard to be precise or fast while using it. The design seems more targeted to professional users, like makeup artists, or for special occasions. Not really so much for daily use.The design of the handle is excellent. This has silicone grips on the handle and is otherwise solid metal. There are no visible weak spots. The handle is quite ergonomic, excellent grip, and easy to hold. The silicone ensures that it doesn’t slip on you.The bristles are firm (in that they don’t bend easily) and are silky smooth. The bristles are also really resistant to shedding. The bristles are made of an engineered fiber.Keep in mind that the Linear 1 brush comes in different sizes. For example, it also comes in size 3, or 6. This is the smallest one in the series.Also, it’s pretty pricey (currently $35), and this just comes with the 1 brush. There’s nothing else is included.You can use a brush cleaner for it, or wipe it down with remover wipes, but just remember you have to let it air dry after you clean it otherwise the bristles could get damaged.In summary, this brush is designed for a pretty limited set of uses, and it is difficult to use. Although it is of high quality, and the feel is amazing, it is probably more suited for professionals like makeup artists. The pricing also makes it hard to recommend, because for an average consumer there are many more efficient and cheaper brushes out there.

Artis Elite Linear 1 Makeup Brush | Perfect Precise Liner|While this is marketed for eyebrows, it does an amazing job at eyeliner in a quick and easy step. I love using powder liner and this brush allows me to get one line that hugs my lashes in one step. It is curved so it fits perfectly along the lower and upper lash line with just the right width. I damped the brush with a bit of water or makeup fixer, dip it into the powder and then apply to the lash line by rocking it back and forth or you can tap it along the line as well.It works fine for brows which is the intention. I have my eyebrows dyed and fixed into place so it does work for keeping them in line. The handle is well-balanced and comfortable to hold. It is stainless steel with a silicone grip in the center. I can see why people love this brand. I would be really careful cleaning this and just get the bristles damp with a bit of cleanser, rinse, and lay it flat on the side to dry.

This brush is like the Ferrari of make-up brushes: speed, precision, luxury — a joy to handle. For years I’ve happily used the same type of angle brush, but until now I have never finished my brows so perfectly in so little time. This brush effortlessly fills in my brows in seconds. While I haven’t mastered a precise line around my eyes, it does create a very nice smoky look.The brush is a bit pricey, but such a treat to use. It’s well designed and feels good in the hand. The dense bristles are soft against the skin. I had no idea that this was a tool I needed, but now I can’t imagine not using it. I love this brush!
