Perfect for small ear canals
I’ve used these for years. They are the only ear plugs that fit my small ear canals.

Great fit for small ears and still block noise
I recently decided to properly try out different earplugs so I wouldn't murder my next door neighbor for falling asleep with the TV blasting YET AGAIN. I'm a petite woman with apparently very small ear canals-- I can only stand to wear earbuds in the small size, and if I wear those for more than a couple hours my ears get sore. So I tried a few different types of earplugs: these Mack slim fits, the regular sized Mack ultrasofts, and the Mack pillow soft silicone putty earplugs. The ultrasoft earplugs hadn't even expanded back to their full size before the pressure in my ear canals became uncomfortable, and they were also too long in length for me to sleep on my side. The silicone earplugs worked well to drown out noise (since they mold to your ear's external shape) but unsurprisingly stuck to my hair and pillowcase and pulled themselves out in the middle of the night. These Mack slimfits are significantly narrower and also shorter than the regular size, and still block out a fair amount of noise. With them in, I can't hear my neighbor's TV sounds through the wall, I can't hear my boyfriend snoring next to me, I'll wake up in the morning and the earplugs are still in place, and my ear canals won't hurt. They can also be reused several times before they stop rebounding after they're compressed. Highly recommend for other people with small sensitive ears and loud neighbors!

Good for light sleeping apartment dwellers
I have been using Home Depot brand orange earplugs for years when I have trouble sleeping because of noisy neighbors, or if I want to sleep with the window open, but if I wear earplugs for more than one night, my ear canals start to hurt because the earplugs are too wide. So I got these because they are supposed to be narrower. They are indeed narrower, and don't hurt my ears nearly as much. I still have a little pain just because I just now switched to these earplugs, so we will have to see if these cause me pain over time. My old earplugs have a 32 decibel rating, and these have a lower rating, but I don't hear a noticeable difference. For reference, I can very quietly hear my small desk fan across the room, me shutting my bedroom door, or the toilet flush or sink water run if I go to the bathroom during the night. But I don't hear my upstairs neighbors clomping around, that one dog in the community that barks all night, street noises from the road nearby, or people talking outside as they walk past. And since I sleep alone that's all that bothers me. I wouldn't be able to tell you how it would work if I had a partner who was snoring or something like that. But for a single apartment dweller, they work fine. I don't think I would recommend them for work with heavy machinery or power tools, and probably not for concerts either. I'll have to test it out the next time I go to a concert. I have not had the fit issues other reviewers have had. The earplug goes in easily and stays put. They seem to be shorter than my old earplugs so they don't go into my ear as deep as I would expect. I would definitely recommend these if normal earplugs hurt your ears over time, and definitely if you sleep with earplugs.

If you're flying or using public transit, you need these!
This was a lifesaver throughout my Europe backpacking trip. I am now used to a certain standard of comfort in airports and hostels and anywhere else I might need to dampen the sound level. These are comfortable enough to sleep with all night (normal earplugs usually make my ears sore after a while) and stay in place. I love the little travel container it comes with, makes it easy to toss in my purse or bag. Whether it's taking a nap or sleeping overnight in an airport, these block out the jarring blare of intercom announcements and most of the general noise so that you can sleep comfortably without missing out on important announcements. As it says on the box, it keeps a certain amount of decibels out of your ear so it doesn't block everything, just most things and softens loud noises. I would say they decrease noise by 50-75%, which is perfect for airports/airplanes when you need to hear boarding calls or the flight attendant asking you a question. I never realized how noisy the actual flights are and will never board an airplane again without my handy earplugs to read or sleep or just block out the token sick passenger or anxious baby in the row behind me.

Not perfect - don’t block noise thoroughly, but comfortable and work fairly well for me
Noise bugs me, probably a little more than the average person. We are about 300 feet from the 35 mph road we live on and the noise from what is probably considered fairly rural traffic to most can bother me. Trying to nap if someone is watching television in the next room? Not happening. Dog cleaning itself? Argh! My husband doesn’t get it, but I think factory and audio production work has blasted his eardrums into oblivion. So, several years ago, I bought these moldeable earplugs (I’ll list the URL for below). They are fabulous at blocking noise, but either the inside of my ears shrunk or the plastic on them expanded when they laid unused for a period - because they are now REALLY uncomfortable to try to sleep in. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00630ZA88/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I’ve tried to use the cylindrical basic yellow and orange earplugs my husband is given at his factory, but they pop out, even after rolling them up and squishing them. These are much softer and moderately thinner. No, they don’t block out all of the noise...but it does cut it down significantly for me. They are a tad long so I may cut a pair a bit and try that. At first, I thought they were performing somewhat poorly. Like the yellow/orange ones, I squished/rolled them up and placed them in. But, even though I thought they expanded quickly, I think it takes several minutes because after a while, they blocked more sound than they did initially.

Disappointed!
So disappointed in these. Maybe my ears are just too big? Inserted exactly according to directions, while comfortable, they did not provide any noise cancellation whatsoever.

Blocks out sound really well, fits smaller ears better than other products.
These work SO WELL. I had other ear plugs that I couldn't get to really go all the way in due to having smaller ears. My partner snores and I can't hear him when I wear these. I can still hear some conversation if someone is talking directly to me and I'm trying to listen. I can hear loud music somewhat while wearing them. I did have one issue where I'd used the same pair a lot and they were a bit too flexible and one was temporarily stuck pretty far inside my ear, however easily removed with a bit of patience.
