Is sagging a problem?

We received this mattress in late February so my son has been sleeping on it for about 3 1/2 months and he currently weighs about 20 lbs.  I have not noticed any sagging at all.  We had a softer mattress before that he refused to sleep on so we went with this one because it was firm.  He was sleeping in a pack & play at daycare so we figured the more solid surface the better!

Question 2

Is it necessary to use a waterproof mattress cover with this mattress since the mattress itself is waterproof?

Our daughter has used this mattress for four months (she is now 10 months). We do not use a waterproof pad, just a sheet. If there is ever anything wet on her sheets (formula, urine, etc) you can just use a washcloth. It has a very durable vinyl cover in my opinion.

The mattress descrption states this mattress is for both infants & toddlers. Is one side softer then the other for the toddler stage?

Both sides look identical and have no indication that one is for infants and the other for toddlers. It very well could be but there was nothing indicated in the packaging or on the mattress itself.
