Owner 5636 ST-36 Treble Super Needle Point Hook

I love these J-hooks. They are SHHHHARP--almost excessively so (I know that sounds crazy--hooks can never be too sharp). That being said, these hooks will put the fear into you...or themselves, if you give them the chance. Of all the hooks on all my lures, I am most careful handling anything with an Owner hook on it, because there is no getting near these hooks without getting a good poke. On all of my lures, I will replace the hooks with aftermarket hooks. For topwater lures, I like to have a J-hook up front (always a red one) and EWG Mustad KVD triple grip elite for the rear hooks. The reason is that, for a swiping hit/testing bite, a J-hook will often snag a bass' lip or mouth. For a hit with the lure being engulfed, the EWG hooks do a great job of ensuring a solid hook up. I find that even with swiping hits, if the J hook up front gets taken, the EWG hook at the back will set nicely as well--if the J hook is missed, then the EWG hook usually does the job itself since the ones I use are 2X short--as a general rule, I use one size up for most applications. If the lure has a #6 J-hook, I'll replace it with a #4 KVD Triple grip EWG hook.If you order these BE CAREFUL, and enjoy the ease with which these hooks penetrate just about anything!

4 stars because I've only just got these to replace light wire treble hooks on jerkbaits and have yet to stick a fish with them. I will say that they are so sharp and I stuck myself pretty easy, so I'm sure penetration into the fish won't be a problem.

These things are razor sharp and light weight

I bought these to replace hooks on some older lures. They worked perfect. Strong and sharp.

Very sharp and easy to use.

This is the only treble hook I use for striper fishing. Not only is it the sharpest but, it stays sharp. I mainly use them for stinger hooks in 10-12 inch river herring and Gizzards. I can go through numerous baits and fish be for I have to change them. Which is crucial when it takes about 2 minutes to tie 1 stinger rig.

Size runs larger than what you might expect, which actually ended up working in my favor. The smallest trebles I'd picked up for use as an experiment ended up being too small for the situation I found myself in, but these were perfect. I was able to mouth hook some shortnose gar while bottom fishing, ended up landing 4 of 4.

These are ok hooks but they bend. The bigger sizes 1/0 or bigger aren't as bad but they still do it too. I had these bend out on a 2lb pickerel using them on a lipless crank.

Awesome hook for jerkbaits and smaller topwater lures. Fairly strong and good with a medium action rod. If you are using a crankbait i'd recommend the owner st-41 trebles (slightly stronger). Also a decent price on amazon.

Exactly what I wanted

Used this to make pike traces. Having tried a range of other trebles I now stick with these because they are strong and remain sharp for ages. The colour seems to help but the ordinary black hooks are just as good. Recommended.

Not found better hooks - expensive? yes, but worth it

The only trebles I'd use for pike traces and also good as replacements on lures or for stingers.
