Oatey 42724 Floor Drain with P-Trap, 2-Inch, White

I have a century old house I'm re-doing. This floor drain assembly is reasonably priced and fits the original 1920-model cast iron drain-bowl, trap, and cleanout exactly. I bought a couple other drain assemblies and they weren't even close to a fit. Also it has a sewer back-up prevention adapter you buy separately that screws easily into it! I will use this product again, as I work on many older homes. It would also be good for a new application on many basement drain installations.

A wonderful, strong and easy to install "P trap" with a removable clean out plug. Great product.

Decent little floor drain. Have to watch you don't split it when plumbing it in. Should be embedded in concrete for same reason.

What I dislike is the lack of inspection after the product is assembled. Luckily I checked the main throat (inside) as it was leaking between the 2 in. threaded part and the sandwich of the left and right section. Unluckily that was not the only problem. After I fixed that, I found the leak in the picture. This after testing all the other piping joints and couplings. I had to saw this floor drain (FD) section off the rest of the piping after it failed the test again. I had to test @ 5 psi and it leaked in several places around the seam between the two section. It took me 4 tries to fix all the leaks over 1-1/2 days because of bad weather. In total about 6.5 hours to finally fix this FD stub and then re-assemble it to the existing piping again. Of course returning it to the vendor was out of the question as the inspection of the rough piping was as imminent as the slab being poured. I wonder how one gets money back for such consumption of a DIY time.

Used this for a drain at a convenience store as a collection bowl for three sinks. Fit the bill perfectly!
