Great for tattoo removals. So far I have used this product once after doing a swatch test to ensure I wasn't allergic. It worked absolutely wonderfully and made the experience so much easier in comparison to going without it. It worked great for my sensitive skin as well and the healing process has went as usual 😄 In terms of application I would highly recommend the following: 1: Apply a large amount to area and around area with gloves in a stippling motion 2: Wrap with siran wrap and medical tape or some sort of clear non-absorbant bandage 3: Allow product to sit for at least an hour (I did about an hour and 30 minutes) 4: Wipe clean with alcohol wipes, anti-bacterial soap, or some sort of non abrasive/scent free body wash

This is the only numbing cream my tattoo artist recommends. I used this for my sternum and tattoos without feeling anything. The package directions are very vague and I had to ask my tattoo artist how to use it. PLEASE NOTE: This is how my artist and I use Zensa and not medical advice. You should consult a physician before using Zensa. About an hour before my appointment, I use a glove and pat globs of Zensa on the area I’m getting tattooed. Don’t rub it in like lotion; just pat it around. I then wrap it, air-tight, in Saran Wrap so no open air hits it. The main thing is, you can’t use it all the way around a body part at once or it will completely cut of the blood flow. For example, if you are getting a full arm sleeve tattoo, use it on the outside of your arm first. Then once your artist wipes off the Zensa and applies the stencil to the numbed area, apply the Zensa to the inner arm so it can begin numbing. This allows the blood flow to make its way back to the numbed outer arm. With that being said, the Zensa only works for the initial contact of that session and if your artist adds shading or color to an area that was tattooed during that session, the numbness will be gone and you will feel it. Zensa is more expensive than other numbing creams, but worth it for the quality of the product. Barely any pain put on a hour and a half before the tattoo

I loved it. It didn’t completely numb the area but it did relieve some discomfort and pain

So glad I tested this before my tat appointment. I tested it 2x. First time, I left it on for 20 minutes after wrapping it well in transparent film dressing. It didn't work so I tested it again but left it on for an hour. Same process. I took the transparent dressing off and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS NUMB. So glad I ordered another product with better reviews that say it even lasts much longer that what I'm hearing about this stuff (1.5 hr). Wish I could get a refund.

Long review, leaving application tips , I'd wish I'd seen and stuff from HOURS of reading reviews /watching YY. I found the instructions to be lacking. TLDR It works! I felt the pressure of the needle but not the pain. If you've ever had a tooth removed using novacaine, I'd liken it to that. A few spots I did feel it, it felt greatly diminished in discomfort, more like being rubbed with medium grit sandpaper. I got a 3x 2 tattoo on my lower bicep above elbow, took 1 hr 10 minutes. The areas where the application was thinner began to wear off in the last 20ish mins. The sanitation, and tattoo ointment/ rubbing/wiping didn't affect the numbing where I'd applied it thickly, but it may have on the areas I didn't apply as thickly. The instructions could be more helpful to maximize potential potency. This is what I did and it worked really well. How I applied for tattoo( YMMV , everybody's nerves are mapped a little differently) - Clean, exfoliate, and gently shave the intended area 1-2 days before session. - Using gloves (cuz didn't want numb fingers) smooth a thick coating across the area. I'd suggest going a little outside of the intended area to make sure the nearby nerves also go night night. On the areas not in the direct path, I patted it on. Popcorn ceiling style. I used about 1/3 -2/3 of my tube. - I applied the cream about 1 hr 45 mins before my appt. It says 45 mins before for a tattoo on the instructions but I wanted to be for sure for sure. My last session was 13 yrs ago and I wanted to ease nerves and discomfort so I could sit well. - Cover area with a tegaderm bandage, get larger than you think you need. The more area you can cover with one bandage, the better. You can get them at CVS or Walmart, you want to increase contact with the skin but also limit oxygen to the area so your skin " breathes" in the cream. Also causes you to sweat and open the pores, getting it deeper. More on this in a moment. You may think, oh, I'll cling wrap myself, cheaper. TRUST, you won't get even enough coverage and unless you are going to medical tape over it, oxygen is still getting in. The more cream touches more of your skin the better. - After applying the bandage, I ran a medium temp blow dryer over the area until my arm felt like it was warming up. You may get a tingle sensation from the cream. Then I wrapped a warm towel around it until the towel cooled off. - Waited an hr. Took off bandage ( most of it will have absorbed into your skin) applied about a quarter sized amout to the area and didn't cover. Wore it to the shop and wiped it off before starting. When the artist started I had to look at my arm cuz I couldn't feel it. Post procedure pros - When I wiped it off my skin wasn't tacky, sticky, clammy, or anything unpleasant feeling. It was still soft -Great ingredients, I have quite sensitive skin ( can't do perfumes, have to get dye free everything or I'm moving to rashville, keratitis is a thing for me including near where I got inked) and it didn't irritate me AT all. - Skin in much better condition post tattoo. Used it for my 3rd tattoo, never used numbing cream before and my skin ( brown skin) was barely even red. It was a little angry in spots but no more than say, over exfoliating. - Post tattoo muscle soreness also disminished. - Color and saturation of ink/ application wasn't affected. I didn't tell my artist but it didn't seem like it hindered their progress. Nice smooth lines , and didn't seem to have to load needle endlessly.

Best numbing cream out there! Designed for tattoos! No vasoconstrictors to make ink deposit spongy! Used this for all of my tattoos now that Im getting older and it's getting more painful and harder to recover. I originally bought from their site, but upon attempting to buy it a second time with a promo code, they wouldnt process it. So I went looking for it cheaper elsewhere. Amazon really came through with overnight shipping and the subscribe and save price. Very thrilled!

Worked better than I expected. But doesn't last ... and I have some recommendations for that!! Let's get to it. I have 28 years of tattoo experience. Currently working on a full back piece. Decided to use this because after a few hours, tats hurt. I couldn't believe the difference it made. You can barely feel it, literally. It only lasts about 1.5 hours after it's washed off. So here is how the process goes: you want this to be applied at least 1 hour before your start tattooing, so you need to know how long it's going to take you to get there, and get the stencil applied etc. I haven't time it, but I don't think you want to be waiting several hours before starting. If you live close by and will be getting right into it, then ensure application is minimum 1 hour prior. HOT SHOWER first, to open pores up (or hot wash ... whatever). Apply generously to tattoo area but not so much to waste it. Cut Saran wrap (plastic food wrap) and use first aid tape to stick the wrap over the area. When you arrive at your appointment, they are going to remove the wrap and wash you. HUGE TIP: If you are going to be doing a large area, consider using smaller sections of plastic wrap so they can be taken off at different times, say, 2 hours apart. My last appointment lasted 8 hours, and after the 2 hour mark I started suffering lol. Wish I had done smaller sections that could be taken off as we progressed. Great stuff. Pricey, but worth it for long sessions or smaller ones if you can't handle it.

I was getting a tattoo on a sensitive area and was skeptical to try this but the price was fair so i went for it. i believe that following the measures prior to applying is KEY. i used a hot towel with water and pressed it on the area to open up my pores. I applied a decent amount of the cream (a bit less than half the tube) on my lower stomach area. It didn’t feel any different than regular cream upon application. I made sure to coat the entire area. I used saran wrap slightly tight to hold it in place around the area. Not even an hour later and my area felt completely NUMB. So as you can imagine, a lower stomach piece must be painful - but with this cream it was smooth sailing. I was able to lay still and only felt slight pressure but no pain at all. The strength lasted and was going strong for 4 hours if not approx 4.-5 hours slowly wearing off by the end. I have been raving about this product ever since. A tube will last me about 2-3 sessions depending on the size of the area. Will definitely we buying this again! 10/10

Product is wonderful and works wonders, if you use properly. I was going to get a big piece on my LEFT thigh, and after taking one already on the right thigh I knew the session was going to be painful. So I got this product as it seemed the one with better reviews. I rinsed the thigh with plenty of hot water (I don't have much body hair, so I didn't need to shave), dried it with a hairdryer, applied a generous layer of the product, wrapped it in plastic bandage, put the dryer on longer, left it very hot, because that's what I understood in summary all the recipes I've seen. I went by car, to preserve the plastic well, with my leg wrapped in a blanket, and with the car seat heater on until then. I kept it warm until it was time to remove the plastic, when I got to the studio. Right before applying the stencil, I applied a more of the product and left it without plastic for about 20 minutes - I've practically used the whole tube during whole process. I felt ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the first 2 hours of the session, but the tattoo artist had already warned you, for large pieces this is a problem because by the time the effect wears off, the pain you will feel is much more excruciating than if you had not used any numbing cream. He was right and so it was, it was 5 hours of tattooing and the worst physical pain I've ever felt in my life, even crying in pain. So my advice, the product is great, for small pieces or for short sessions of up to 2 hours. DO NOT USE FOR LARGE PIECES GOING BEYOND 2 HOURS, it's hell on earth.

The short review: it worked for 1.5 hours The long review: I took these steps - I took a long hot shower and shaved the area in the shower. I got out, dried off and immediately applied a generous, very thick coat over the area and wrapped it tightly with suran wrap 1hr before my tattoo was to begin… I drove to my appointment and once there while waiting for my artist to set up I put a heat pack on the area (over my shirt) for the last 10 minutes before we started… I unwrapped and let it air out for about 5 minutes, then the artist wiped it off and we began… The first line was 100% pain free, it felt like a vibrating ball point pen. From then on it progressively wore off, the first 45 minutes being mostly pain free, then it started to rapidly wear off… at about the 1hr mark it became painful, and by 1.5” hours the effect was almost completely gone… Some other notes: - This was my second session on this tattoo on my stomach/front rib cage, the first session I did not use any numbing agents, so this review is a direct comparison to the same areas of the same tattoo, with and without this numbing cream. - I experienced swelling when using the numbing cream that I didn’t in the first session without it, the artist noted having to work the ink in a little bit more that last time because of this. - after it wore off, I felt the pain of the current needle stokes along with a rapid onset of the pain from all the work done up to that point… if you’re not cognizant of this it can make it seem like the cream is now making the pain worse than “normal”, but it’s not. In conclusion: I’d definitely use it again for short and medium appointments, short appointments will be easy as pie and for medium appointments it will give you a good head start … long appointments I don’t think it will make much better in the end as the swelling it causes may end up making it longer and harder anyway… I’m 35 years old now and not trying to be a tough guy anymore so 2-3 hour appointments are manageable and the logical option for quality work anyways.

Used for tattoo purposes. After I applied and left it for a bit, it felt like I was being tattooed with a bee stinger! Like nothing! Would recommend to any uncomfortable or more painful spots. Will be using again.
