First off, allow me to say that I absolutely LOVE all my instruments made by Mendini by Cecilio! I have a piccolo and now a flute made by them and I find that both are absolutely amazing. The flute is of a great quality: it stays in tune, it had a very nice nickel color, and I have had no technical difficulties with it whatsoever. I rented a Yamaha flute retailed at over double the price of this flute and I discovered that this flute I purchased stayed in tune far better than the more expensive Yamaha! My word! That was absolutely amazing!For anyone interested in learning to play the flute or have already learned and just enjoy playing on an excellent quality instrument, I would recommend this Mendini flute without reserve and hope that they too could enjoy the pleasure of making music with such a great instrument. (P.S.: No, I do not work for Mendini. I don't even know where they are based or anything. Is Cecilio like a real person, because if he is, I'd just like to say 'Thanks' for all the good work you've done for the music community!)

My son is in middle school band and plays the flute. I saw this and had it in my wish list for a few months, checking reviews and the manufacturer. All I need to say is I should have bought it sooner. The price made me wonder about its quality but after seeing the flute in person I am very impressed. We had rented a flute for the past 2 years and this flute is as good or even better than what we had rented and the price is a third of what I had already spent on renting. And the bonus items just add value. I dont know how to tune a flute but my son does and the stand is better than laying the flute on a table or chair. I was a little worried about the "soft" case but its not really that soft. Its a formed fit and cloth coverd but has a shell inside that I think will stand up to a few drops and ridding around in my sons bookbag. All in all, very much worth it.

It is a good beginner flute. The extras are crap. The case is a nice soft case and made pretty well. The flute did break the top piece off, but it was an easy fix.

The flute itself was fine. The set was advertised as coming with the metranome/tuner. I paid $10 more for this option and it wasn't in there. I now have to purchase the metranome separately and pay for it twice.

I asked my parents to buy the flute for me because I thought it would be nice to have my own. I have been playing flute for 3 years and I am constantly playing. I browsed through Amazon and found this product. Since it was my personal flute, I took great care of it. It was shiny and included everything it states. I worked perfectly. It sounded just like all the school flutes, but one day after taking it out and assembling it, my band director asked us to play a B flat I made an attempt but it didn't work. I had no idea what was wrong, I thought it was me so I asked my section leader to check it. She said that it seemed fine. I went inside to use a school flute as she checked mine. We found that one of the buttons was not going down all the way. I found it weird because I had NEVER dropped my flute and I was very careful since I only had it for a couple of weeks. It worked fine at first, but suddenly it had a problem.

Great instrument for the price!!!!!!! Would definitely recommend for the beginner flute player. Good tone quality. Already tuned on arrival.
