The product seems to imply it's for mat to mat only, but all the reviews says people are using it to mount the art to the mat. Is it both?

I use this mat to mat. If I want to change the top mat, I do not want do damage my art work. I do, however, affix my pastels directly to the bottom mat because they do not generally need to be protected by hinging in that manner.

My need isn't for craft work. I need to repair a 2-inch rip at a crease in my pleated (accordian) window blind. I've been looking for a tape that is strong, not too thick, and flexible since the shade has to open and close. I saw the word "hinge" and thought perhaps this tape might work. Any thoughts? Hello P and R! The Linenco Self Adhesive Linen Tape might work for the application you noted in your question. The tape is flexible, strong and creates a permanent binding. I believe that it's flexible enough for the accordion blind but it will depend on how heavy or thick the fabric is that was used to make the blind itself. I use this tape when mounting photographs and it works great for that application. It's definitely worth the try.

Loved this

I appreciated being able to find archival tape to hang a painting securely. A few small pieces of this linen hanging tape securely fitted the paper to the mat inside the metal frame. I did find it somewhat difficult to separate the tape’s backing film from the linen, but I eventually got the hang of it. The tape itself was not overly sticky but did feel very secure.

This was perfect for safely attaching antique cigarette cards to the mount. I was anticipating it might be tricky, but the linen tape was very easy to use - highly recommend.
