Luster Leaf 1820 Rapitest Moisture Meter

I have had and used this moisture meter for several years. I am very pleased with it. My granddaughter (15yrs) has recently shown interest in having and growing plants in her bedroom. I bought this for her for Christmas, she was thrilled! It's easy to use and works great.Update: My granddaughters Moisture Meter stopped working all together! I gave it to her for Christmas. She has used it for only 4 months! Not happy with her meter at all. Wondering how I contact seller.

I can stick the probe in while sitting in a chair while reading the meter on my lap.

I've had the moisture meter for a little over a month now. It works good. I have noticed if you stick it in the soil and are anywhere near roots it will register "wet". Also, sometimes there is a delay. It'll say "wet" but fall rapidly until it settles on a different category. Overall, a nice buy.

Would not read wet to dry…..everything was dry even after watering

1st Model 1820 was delivered in an Amazon envelope with a badly damaged screen. The replacement was quickly shipped and received in less than two days. Initial test suggests it’s not working correctly when compared to an older, functioning Rapitest Model 1825 Meter. It reads 2.0 compared to 5.6 on the older 1825. A second test in a recently watered pot resulted in closer readings, 9.0 compared to 8.0 on the 1825. The new meter requires much longer to settle, and consistently reads 1.0 when wiped off and left sitting. While harder to read, I recommend the battery powered Model 1825 over this item.
