Perfect book to help discuss and identify our feelings
In support of Children’s Mental Health week I wanted to share one of my favourite books which I regularly read to my son (in small sections, he’s only 18 months!). It’s a GORGEOUS book that helps us talk about our feelings and is one of many favourite books of mine that I wish I’d written! It’s never too early to start discussing feelings, to help identify them and to seed the idea of self regulation. My little boy is too young to use his words yet so it’s up to me to interpret his behaviour and work out what might be going on and I know this book is going to be a huge help as he grows up and learns to share his feelings.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK.
🦎💚💙💛❤ Can you imagine living in a world where you are able to tell what everyone is feeling just by looking at them? But what if looks can be deceiving? It's all gone a bit wrong for Conker and his Chameleon friends as they are struggling for the words to describe how they are feeling. ❤💛💙💚🦎This is a fantastic story for teaching about talking about emotions and verbalising how we are feeling. It includes the zones of regulation model as well as some lovely warming illustrations. The back of the book is filled with some wonderful activities and resources that can be shared with children. I absolutely love this book. Hannah, you've done a spectacularly good job and it has earned itself a spot in my therapist toolkit.Top Christmas present recommendation from me! 🎄🎉

Delightful & meaningful
Conker the chameleon is a delightful book, it has a jolly rhyming flow and a powerful message. My children were enthralled when I read this book to them and it prompted lots of questions “what is mental health?” And this book made it easy to give age appropriate answers. I also liked there is a few facts in there, I never knew chameleons shed their skins!! An amazing bonus is the mental health scavenger hunt in the back of the book, simple and beautiful! I’m sure this book will remain a firm favourite in our household. Thank you very much 🙂

Important message in a beautifully written book.
What a Beautifully written book. I read this to my small class of mainly ASD students who can struggle with their emotions, how they can express them or find it difficult to read others emotions. As some of my students are sensory seeking and struggle to engage , I added some story blocks. The children were engaged and loved the story, the activities at the end were a lovely touch and one of my students decided to befriend a pine cone who she hugged spoke to and cared for for the rest of the day. Thankyou Hannah for this lovely read.

A go to....
My full time job is to support parents, to help them implement calmer and more harmonious behaviours within the home. So, I’m always on the look out for props in which to help me with this mission!Conker will now be a firm go to for me, in terms of creating care packages for families who need a little extra help and support.I LOVED the ethos behind this book, for the child listening it’s a great story, gorgeous illustrations and obviously a fantastic morale! In turn, the adult has a chance to develop new skills in approaching what can be a sensitive topic, or to be completely honest, is quite often overlooked altogether.A child’s mental health should be held with the same regard as their physical and books like this help us all to remember that. A very beautiful story with an important message
This book is absolutely wonderful. The story and illustrations are both beautifulMy 5 year old sat down together to read this book, which he thoroughly enjoyed, and we spoke about each page and what was happening in each picture, which then lead on to discussing our own feelings. This book is great for letting children (and adults) know that it's ok to talk about their feelings and it will help them feel better if they do. We also loved the message of it being ok if you're a little different to others and that being different has some wonderful benefits :)This is now our favourite book and both myself and my 5 year old highly recommend having this book in your collection.
