Very helpful and smartly presented!
Complex subject...but simple book. I liked the way the subject has been broken down into multiple chapters and it makes an easy read. The examples are many and resources very helpful. Thank you, Jonathan!

Súper
Únicamente encontré esta edición en inglés, llevo poco avance de la lectura pero llegó en excelentes condiciones y el contenido está bien estructurado y súper digerible. Súper recomendable a un excelente precio.

OK if you are a pen-pusher in a Local Authority
Didn't like style of writing in this book at all. It is too 'matey'. Has all the basic 'facts' and accepts the Global agenda of Smart Cities without challenge. For Yes people working in the business of imposing these changes on the general public.

The Encyclopedia "Smart Cities"
Rating coming from brother (Dan Barry) of account holder Melinda Barry."This book is an absolute masterpiece from start to finish. It is by pure happenstance I came across this book via meeting Jonathan Reichental, PhD (the author), at a virtual global conference earlier in the summer. I pre-ordered the book and upon its arrival, knew I wanted to be focused during reading. I deferred doing so until I knew I had a "beach week" vacation (reading at the beach is one of my favorite hobbies). As someone who does not work in Government or in Public Service, this truly is an encyclopedia chock full of data, actions, strategy, and tech (my domain) broken into 5 discreet but brilliant parts. Making the City your home, Building Smarter Cities, Using Smart Tech ;), Planning for Urban Future (imperative now!) and the infamous "Part of Tens". The Appendix can keep you busy as long as your time permits with links to data to learn about leading cities around the world. In my opinion this should be required reading of government leaders, certainly in America. This book is the foundation for creating a more harmonious world for all of us to live in. I, certainly, was educated by Jonathan in a manner that changed some of my own misconceiving notions on how what Smart Cities should look like and how to continue striving for them.Well done, Jonathan! (Inserting quote from prior reviewer) - "This is an important book for everyone to read NOW. Our world is at a critical juncture, not only to explore, but to implement great ideas to improve our quality of life for all living things on this planet."Dan BarryBoston, MA"

Amazing book on how to bring cities forward on all levels.
I picked up this book looking for ways to get involved in my local city. While I love the city I live in, there are things that maybe can be done better. There are things lacking that could make it a world renowned city, not just bringing it into the 21st century, but make it a leader.Dr Reichental's book covers not just one or two topics, but over a dozen in a well rounded fashion. His language is simple, yet detailed and he shows how it is not just one thing that makes a "Smart City", but several. And while he has not given out a blue print of a smart city, he has given the designs to help cities move forward. This is a must have book for city managers and city leaders.
