I strive to write reviews to help others as I base many of my purchases off of reviews.Let me start off by saying I did purchase this item. Nothing against the other reviews of those who got it free to review as those reviews are why I bought it. However, if you are someone weary of those reviews, I hope my review helps clear up any doubts.I've been using a mount that plugs in to my cigarette lighter, which has worked ok, but it would slowly droop and not sit tight. I came across this mount a few days ago and decided to buy it because of the great reviews. I have been looking into something similar, but they weren't cheap for good ones.The package came quickly and was packed well. Inside the box were several parts, allowing you to use multiple devices with this one mount. There were two large metal stickers, for tablets I would assume and one smaller one for a phone. I ended up using a larger one with my phone as it worked better being behind my case.There was of course the actual mount, but it also had several extra adhesives for the mounts which I found very helpful. So if you ever want to move this in your car or move it to another car, there are spares already provided.Installation was very easy. Alcohol pads were provided as well to clean your phone/tablet or whatever your sticking the metal plate on to. The metal plate is very thin and light, and the 3M adhesive used is very strong. I cleaned my iPhone, stuck on the metal plate, and the phone was ready. As a side note, the moci logo and words also glow in the dark on that metal plate which is a neat touch. I won't see mine being its behind my case, but still neat.The mount itself is two pieces. The first piece is the base, which is the metal ball and adhesive for applying somewhere in your car. It's already on the base, so all you have to do is pull off the backing and stick it on. Then there is the disc portion, which is the actual magnet to hold your phone. The front facing portion has the logo and glow in the dark rim, which is very nice and makes seeing it at night easier. The rear of it is concave and magnetic as well to apply to the ball base. As its magnetic, you can easily rotate and move it around to find the best angle. But the magnet is strong enough that once your phone/tablet is mounted it does not move.I first put the base pieces together, before even putting the metal circled on my phone, and found the best place in my car for it to be mounted. The place I liked most worked best with the metal plate mounted lower on my phone. Somewhere around the bottom 1/3 of the phone.I then used the other alcohol pad provided to clean the dash area in my car, let it dry, and stuck the base to the car. As the area I put it is more vertical, I took off the magnetic piece from the ball when applying it so that it wasn't as heavy, to ensure it would stick well. I left it for an hour or two to be extra safe and make sure the adhesive had stuck. The 3M adhesive on the base is a VHB (very high bond) adhesive and is very sticky. But all adhesives, whether a glue or pad like this, work better the longer they sit. They slowly flow in to all the surface and create the bond. Leaving it for a couple hours was probably over kill, but I wanted to be safe.After sitting for a couple hours, I put on the magnetic plate, adjusted it to the angle I preferred, and then put my phone on it and it worked perfectly.The magnet is extremely strong and works very well. It's strong enough to prevent it from moving around on the ball/base and changing the angle. It's also strong enough to prevent my phone from sliding off, even though it's nearly vertical. I haven't tested my iPad yet, but from how well it works with the phone and how hard it is to pull off from the mount, I imagine it would work just as well.Overall this is a great mount that I would highly recommend. It is nice and small, but strong enough for any needs I have. The extra metal plates and adhesives provided are a nice extra and ensure this will be used for years to come, even if I get a new car or want to move it to another location.I am very happy with this and anyone interested in buying it will not be disappointed.

I picked up a different car and the suction cup base phone holder would no longer work since the new car doesn't have any surfaces that are not textured. I decided to give this holder a try. This thing is fantastic. It comes in several pieces, the base, the steel bearing and the top portion. There's also several metal plates that you attach to the phone. I was wary of the strength of the magnet to hold my phone because I use a gel case on it. But I attached the disk to the phone, put the gel case back on and the phone holder held onto the phone no problem. Since the bearing is held in place by the magnet, you can have the phone in almost any position in the car. The adhesive pad on the base attached find to the textured dash material and has held tight for the past couple of months with no sign of moving.The only thing that takes getting used to is that you need to make sure the magnet grabs the entire disk that's on the phone. It's possible to have it attached only by the edge of the disk, but that's not solid enough to hold while driving. But it's just a matter of getting used to how the phone needs to be positioned.I will definitely buy another one of these when I need a holder in another vehicle.

Jan 2017 Product update:My previous complaints have gotten worse...the magnetic ball/mount have become even more loose, and now, the adhesive between the cell phone mount and my car is deteriorating. So now not only is the cell phone bouncing all over the place when the roads are bumpy, but the cell phone holder is almost always about to fall off of the dash.I live in MN so perhaps the adhesive wasn't meant to survive below zero temperatures...but I would never recommend this product to anyone at this point.---- original review ----Using Samsung Galaxy S6, with the magnetic sticker at the lower/bottom of the rear of the cell phone, it does have the tendency to move slightly when going over bumps or sharp turns.Perhaps it wouldn't be an issue if the magnetic sticker was directly on the balance point...which isn't an option for how I needed to mount the cell phone holder.

Unobtrusive and easy to install, it gives my iPhone a secure spot in my car without blocking my air vents or my entertainment screen. It is smaller that I expected and that's good. My only quibble is that the description claims it comes with two extra 3M adhesive bits and I only got one. My husband said he could find more as he uses the same material at work. In a few months I will be transferring this holder to a new vehicle, and I could use an extra adhesion bit.Update: After about six weeks the adhesive gave way in the Florida heat. It was installed in a diesel VW that was due to be turned in so I didn't bother to set it back up again. There isn't a good spot for it in my new vehicle. Sigh...

Compact and really holds my Note 4 (big) securely in place.Downside (not major) but if you rotate your phone from landscape to portrait position (depending on the app you're using) after a while the magnet actually loosens up the metal ball and you have to remove the magnetic disc and hand tighten the ball then reattach the disc.Also the surface must be clean, smooth & level before attaching or it will not stick to it.It did not adhere to some areas of my dash.I have three of these and I would buy again.

Stuck on dash until first corner, then the entire unit fell off, and will not stick back. I believe the heat from the sun caused the 3M glue to malfunction. The unit is well made and pretty, but not much use if it doesn't stay where it was placed. I stuck the unit (as instructed) to the vertical dash by the air vent, and left it for three days before use. I give it 2 stars as the unit is nice, but 3M did not do their job.
