A deluxe gift edition of L. Frank Baum’s cherished children’s classic, vividly reimagined with beautiful four-color artwork and nine interactive features created by MinaLima, the award-winning design studio behind the graphics for the Harry Potter film franchise. Hailed as "America’s greatest and best-loved homegrown fairytale" by the Library of Congress, L. Frank Baum’s classic story has been enjoyed by generations of young readers since its publication in 1900. One of the most-read children’s books, this timeless found family adventure is a staple of American literature and the inspiration for the beloved 1939 Academy Award-winning movie (widely acclaimed as one of the greatest films of all time), as well as stage plays and musicals. When a tornado strikes the Kansas prairie in this classic fantasy story, young orphan Dorothy Gale and her little dog Toto are blown away to Oz, a magical place filled with witches, munchkins, winged monkeys, and other unusual inhabitants. Lost and afraid, all Dorothy wants is to return to her Uncle Henry and Auntie Em. But to do so, the Good Witch of the North tells her, she must follow the Yellow Brick Road that leads to the Emerald City. There, she will find the fearsome Wizard of Oz who can help her find her way home. Along the way, Dorothy encounters three unforgettable characters—the Scarecrow, the Tinman, and the Cowardly Lion—who join her in her quest. Their journey to the Emerald City, fraught with peril and adventure, teaches them the true meaning of friendship and reminds us all that there is no place like home. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Interactive reimagines the novel’s iconic imagery and highlights phrases from the original book in a unique and delightful style that will enchant readers of all ages. Sure to become a collector’s item, this deluxe illustrated edition is an interactive storybook that contains specially commissioned artwork and nine exclusive interactive features, including: A cyclone map that opens up to reveal the Land of Oz A pop-up Yellow Brick Road Oz glasses that provide a different look at the world Fighting trees with branches that move Dorothy’s silver shoes that can be clicked together This marvelous MinaLima edition will enchant young and adult readers and is a thoughtful gift for any occasion. Review: Beautiful book, wonderful story - This is such a unique way to experience the original, unabridged “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” I bought this copy to read to my children and promptly bought two more copies as gifts for young cousins and my son’s 3rd grade teacher (who was concurrently reading the story to his class). I loved the unique full color illustrations and details that were found on every page of the book; it made reading aloud more interesting and enjoyable, and I feel like it was easier to keep my children engaged through such a long story. I didn’t have difficulty in keeping the book closed with all the extra cardstock pop up’s, as other reviewers mentioned. It is definitively a “handle with care” item, as all pop up books are. This isn’t the copy you dog ear or read in the tub. The only issue I have with this version of book is that the creative license taken means that the pictures didn’t always match the text. I felt, at times, that I was viewing what the illustrator saw in their head, as opposed to what L Frank Baum actually described. He is a master storyteller so I would have appreciated more literal illustrations, although most of the time it wasn’t an issue. There was ONE glaring mistake early on in the illustrations that my brain just couldn’t move past. In the fold out map of Oz, the Munchkins are shown to be in the West, and the Winkies are shown to the East. Nope. The directions are so fundamental to the character’s journey through Oz that I probably checked my “never eat soggy waffles” mantra about 50 times before forcing myself to accept the discrepancy and turn the page. It wasn’t enough to make me knock a star off the review of this enchanting edition, but it bothered me enough to consider it. Of all the pictures to get right, that one was the most important. I love this story, and the others that follow in the Oz series. I love that this version is unabridged and slightly violent in the way most good children’s stories are. It’s a truly original tale about an exciting journey. It promotes kindness, bravery, resilience, critical thinking, healthy skepticism, and loyalty. Along the way it reveals great ironies about how the characters view themselves and others, and encourages the reader to shed pre-conceived notions and stories that might impede our own perception. To me, this book is a perfect illustration of the concept that life is about the journey, not the destination. Review: Perfect for 8 year old girl who loves Wicked - Bought it as a Christmas gift for my 8 year old daughter who is really into the movie Wicked. The book is much longer than what she usually reads but thanks to all the beautiful tricks and illustrations, she truly enjoys reading the book all by herself. I would love to buy other classic story books from the same series in the future.

A Must-Have for Any Book Lover!
This interactive edition of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by MinaLima is absolutely magical! The attention to detail is incredible, from the vibrant full-color illustrations to the beautifully designed interactive elements. The pop-ups, spinning wheels, and pull-tabs bring the story to life in a way that makes it feel completely fresh, even for those who already know and love the classic. The quality of the book itself is fantastic, with thick pages and a sturdy hardcover that makes it feel like a true collector’s item. Whether you're a longtime fan of Oz or discovering it for the first time, this edition is an absolute treasure. Highly recommend!

Mina Lima Should Publish All of the Books.
Mina Lima is one of my favorite literary discoveries. They are the husband and wife duo behind a number of stunning illustrated classics. Our family is slowly collecting all of them (we can't wait to pick up Alice in Wonderland!) after purchasing the first two Harry Potter books, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and the Hans Christen Anderson fairy tale collection. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz does not disappoint. Mina Lima uses color creatively to represent the various lands within Oz. The book includes a fun pair of green specatcles for children to try on and experience emerald vision. The pages are thick and have a lovely old parchment appearance that makes them fun to turn. Best of all, Mina Lima goes all out. The book is filled with color and graphics. So often, I feel that illustrated classics look promising on the outside and then have very few illustrations on the inside. Not so with this edition. Nearly all of the pages include some candy for the eye, making every turn of the page special and surprising. Mina Lima....have you ever considered making a special edition of The Princess Bride? I would buy it in a heartbeat. ;)
