Bought this for my teen to have a winter coat. For him to like it means that it's a great coat because he is the pickiest kid I have when it comes to what he wears. I would recommend this coat.

These jackets really are everything. I was skeptical when I first ordered one for my oldest boy, doubting it would really hold up. But it has, and then some! I have four boys, all highly active outdoors, in scouts, etc. We needed: warm, waterproof, durable/"wear proof" (not be subject to friction/abrasion), washable... I didn't really think we'd get all of that with these coats, but we have. I bought them for two of my other boys shortly after getting the first, and we have had them for about a year now. They practically live in them, and they get regular HARD use. The only evidence of this is with my oldest's, and that is only in the form of some very mild staining on the orange portions, from all of the dirt and grime it has been subjected to. The black and blue ones still look brand new! Even the zippers have been perfect. They have taken these snow camping, hiking in the pouring rain, etc. - they stay warm and dry. If they had lining in the sleeves, there would be no complaints whatsoever. But that isn't even an issue once they have them on and warmed up.Now that my littlest is finally big enough to fit into the smallest size (these run a tad big, which is great, because they have plenty of growing room in them), I am ordering yet another for him.

I am a mother of four very active boys. My oldest is 8 and we have been buying LLBean coats For his whole life. For the past two years my two oldest have been going through growth spurts and play very hard in their outside gear. When I went to purchase jackets for over $100 apiece for this winter season, I just couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for coats that would only last one season. I came across these and decided to give them a try. I bought them back in October and it is now Beginning of Feb. these coats are GREAT! They have held up great! I love that they have a snow guard on the inside for extra warms and element protection. We live in Maine and my 8 year old and 6 year old say that they are warm and comfortable. They are easy to clean as well. It is awesome to be able to buy two coats for the price of one and still have it be good quality. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I found that they are very true to size.If you looking for good quality, warm winter coat that you don’t have to over pay for, this is it!

I got this coat for my younger son after purchasing a coat of the same brand for myself. He loves it and the coat is holding up so far. Definitally beats a Walmart or Kohls brand coat for regular wear. Cost is about the same or a little more but this coat is holding up over the winter much better! He is not a overly active boy but he sure hasn't been sitting around this winter since recieving the coat. The stitching is holding up, the zipper is doing okay, and the material isn't becoming flimsy or worn. I think I see a small hole starting to develop on the back but I highly suspicion that is due to him dragging it on the ground or pinching it in his school locker. I feel pretty confident I can darn it up, spray it with some waterproofer, and it will carry on for another season or until he outgrows it. It has kept him quite warm with a minimal base layer and a light sweater underneath. Here in Montana we get plenty of snow so it's nice to have a coat that lets him not hesitate to go outside.

The only reason I went for these coats was because of the great reviews, and I have to add another great review to this list! I was a little concerned because the coats from the pictures didn't look very thick and as you may know the winters can get very cold here in the northeast! I was pleasantly surprised when they came in that they could be so warm while not being really bulky. We ordered two coats for my two boys and ordered a size up hoping to get a couple of winters out of them. They are a little big but of course that was my plan so they fit as expected, with a little growing room! They are great quality, and the feature of the built in "glove" will be a problem solver for playing outside in the snow because my boys get really upset when snow gets in their sleeves. This will definitely prevent that. You will obviously still need winter gloves to put over but I am very impressed with this feature. Both of my kids really love their new coats. The selection of colors is great too. Shipping was faster than expected.

(Medium) My son loves the Jacket, it's warm and the colors are great, yellow and navy blue. The leanth of the sleeves were a bit long but we folded them and it still looked good. He loves that the sleeves has the thumb through option. I will definitely get another year or two with this jacket, since I bought a next size up, but didn't really need to size up. It would definitely fit true to size if your concern is that it runs small, it doesn't. This jacket is amazing for the price, great quality!!! Do recommend!!!

A little thinner than expected but otherwise ok. Son loves it because it has the thumb holes and it’s yellow.Will have to see if he stays warm in the snowUpdate: not even a month of wearing it the zipper will not stay zipped up. Not happy with it at all.

A little too small for the size & a little too thin for what I need but it looks great.

Excellent quality it’s good for milder winters, only, not thick enough for the deep freezes !
