how does this compare with the iSi Gourmet Whip Plus, 1-Pint, Brushed Stainless Steel?

The iSi Gourmet Whip Plus comes boxed with three tips, and a short cap for the charger port, and a silicone grip charger holder.   The Profi only comes with one plastic tulip tip and has an all metal charger holder.  The Profi does not come with a short cap for the charger port. I'm not sure why the Gourmet Whip Plus generally sells for less.

Does it only yield one pint of cream?

You add one pint of heavy cream to the canister (along with whatever sugar and flavor you may be adding)....  How much that equates to when once it is charged with the gas, I don't know.  But it is significantly more than just one pint. I use this canister everyday (we add whipped cream to every dessert!), instead of buying the Reddi-Whip (or comparable pre-made whipped cream). I like having the ability to modify the flavor to my moods.  The canister will generally last a couple weeks. Depending on the size of your household, this is probably the best one. Unless you have a large household, I wouldn't recommend the 1 QT size.... it's just too much whipped cream and it will probably go bad before you can use it all.    I do own both sizes, but only use the 1 QT canister for parties/large gatherings.

What capacity is this whipper? Is it 1/2 pint; 1 pint; 1/2 litre/; 1 litre;  WHAT?

It says 1 pint. The fill line is 1.5 cups but we use 1 1/4 cups of cream. Any more is too much.

Question 4

Can I fill this up and then leave it in the fridge to use over the course of several days?  Or do I need to make one batch at a time and use it up?

Yes - you can save it in the fridge for later use, the shelf life is shorter than normal (since it isn't always in the fridge), I always sample a small amount before serving to make sure...but have never had a problem.
