Great rod so far
This rod has been great so far. Compact design makes it easy to store and carry around, it seems durable, operation is smooth and it is very light and easy to use . If it dose break I would buy another.

It is great overall and on price
It is very good for the price and the reel is smooth. It is about 7ft. The only problem was that the packageing was a little bent and messed up. Over all you should buy it because it is a good saltwater starter.

Classic Ugly Stik Combo Just Replace the Factory Line First
I’ve owned Ugly Stiks since I was a little boy and they still hold up great today, and this combo is no different. The rod feels strong but still sensitive enough to know what’s going on at the bait, and it’s a solid setup for anyone wanting a reliable all-around fishing combo. The included saltwater tackle is a nice bonus too. My only real complaint is the line that comes pre-spooled on the reel. Like most factory line that’s been sitting on a spool for a long time, it has way too much memory and it just doesn’t fish smooth. First thing I do every time is swap the line out and then it’s good to go.

Amazing for the price! First thing I did was replace the line with braided line then my son caught a 23 inch Halibut by the Coronado bridge in San Diego! Highly recommend.

Excellent real Rod needs to be stronger
It's always hard purchasing online especially when it's involves something like sports equipment You kind of have to have that product in your hand to really feel it, so is the case of my ugly stick/spinning reel combo purchase. Advertised as a saltwater outfit I feel the rod falls short of being a sturdy rod I would expect of a salt water rod, the reel on the other hand without actually using it I'm quite pleased with it, it's a smooth and sturdy reel complete with line. To recap I feel the reel is an excellent deal as far as the rod goes I'd be much happier with a little longer and sturdier rod. And give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars
