Schluter Ditra-Heat-E-RT Thermostat with Built-in Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter - Ideal for Home Floor Heating - Programmable Touchscreen, Energy Tracking, 3.5" Display - DHERT102/BW

This is the 2nd location on my property where I have this thermostat installed. One for heat coils under a wood floor and this most recent install to replace a Honeywell thermostat controlling coils under a 290-sqft tile floor. I really like the ease of install, set-up, and programming of these thermostats. One item that may catch a DIYer off guard is when you set up the thermostat it asks you for floor heating coil load. Well I installed this floor 6 years ago and no longer have that information. For what it's worth the thermostat uses this data to more accurately calculate the usage statistics so I don't *think* it has any impact on actual functionality (at least none that I can see). That said a quick Google on the topic found an explanation from Warmly Yours that gets you close enough if you want to use this feature. Take the square footage of heated area (note this is NOT necessarily the square footage of your room since heating coils are not ran under cabinets, or maybe not in a closet, etc.). Anyway take the best guess of square footage of the heated area, multiply that by 15W for a tile floor or 12W for a laminate floor (these wattage numbers are pretty standard for electric floor heating coils)... then divide that result by 1000 to get the load in kW. For example my heated floor area is 290 square feet x 15W = 4350... then 4350/1000=4.35kW which is what you should set your thermostat to when asked the floor load in kW. I hope that helps a DIY person set up your thermostat as I was stumped when I first encountered the question. All in all, the new thermostat has only been installed for 2 days but is working as it should. An identical thermostat at my cabin in Northern WI has been installed for 5 years and it too is working well for me. Assuming my new one functions for an acceptable period of time I will definitely buy again!!!

SCHLUTER DITRE HEAT THERMOSTAT IS GREAT WITH MY DITRE HEATED BATHROOM FLOOR. EXPENSIVE BUT I GOT IT QUICKLY AND READY FOR INSTALL WITH MY FLOOR.

Very simple install if you have any DIY skills. I used my laser temp gun to verify the temperature of the floor and then entered it into this controller. Very easy to program and very accurate readings for the floor. Make sure you buy an extra sensor for reliability. Never had one go bad but it's a disaster if it does and you don't have a backup.

My heated floors in my bathroom hadn’t worked in about a year. I thought I was going to have to rip up the floor. Thought I would try this first, it’s fixed and working great! So happy! Looks nicer than the old one also!

Thermostat was very easy to install and is very user friendly. Both the build and software are top quality. It works very well. Time will tell, but I'm very happy right now.

I am so glad this new thermostat was available when I needed to replace my old thermostat (about 4 years old). The display is just great! The LED screen is easy to read, the programming is much easier. After I enter my electricity rate I can check the menu to see about how much money it cost per day for the last week and then by the month. It seemed to jive with my first electricity bill since it was installed. Now I have to read the instructions to figure out how to turn it down when I'm going to be gone a few days, but it doesn't look too hard. (Ditra's customer service lady, Jennifer, emailed me the manual.

Terrible product. We bought the complete Schluter system, had professionals install. We began to get ground fault errors (even though there is no ground fault) and the thermostat quit working. The product was less than a year old. Replaced it, second one also broke in less than a year. Piece of junk. This is an oft reported problem with this product and they either won't or cannot fix it. Would rate it 0 if possible.

This is a replacement for one that lasted 4 yrs then failed. For the price, Schluter should do a better job. For the technical, there are 2 relays to control power to the heating element. The transistor driver for one failed. This may be a common occurrence based on other reports I've seen. Aside from this problem, setup is very easy, lots of control over heat times, 6 time slots per day, 7 days. One final note, it DOES NOT come with any temp sensors and it never has, some complaints notwithstanding. Those are embedded in your floor when the heating elements are laid and are ordered separately.

Nice product

This is a replacement after 10 years. The last one I installed about 6 months ago had a problem setting it up but Schutler rep walked me through it and was a quick fix. I kept his emails and theis one was a breeze to install

what we needed when we had a heat cable given to us but no thermostat. Make sure you also order the heat sensor cable if you are piecing your system together.

This is a great, basic touchscreen thermostat. Large display and simple operation make this a winner. The price is a little steep for the basic functionality, but I knew it would work with the Schluter system I have.
