Arrowroot powder smells like garlic
I got arrowroot powder to use as a dry shampoo per an online recommendation. Everything I read said it’s supposed to be odorless. This stuff smells like it has garlic and pepper in it. Not useable for my purposes and I feel like it has to have other spices added to it contrary to the ingredient list

Certified Organic
I try to avoid wheat flour, instead using mostly coconut flour, which takes longer to digest and is less likely to lead to weight gain. Pride of India seems like a good brand with a lot of organics. So far, I substituted a little Arrowroot for some of the coconut flour. I can say it made much difference, which is fine to me. I suspect Arrowroot is more of an immune system booster than coconut. Plus variety is the spice of life. Let's not be boring.

I've used flour and cornstarch
But I truly prefer Arrowroot powder as a thickener. Why? Well, flour clumps, cornstarch can make something delicate taste...doughy. Arrowroot powder doesn't change the flavor or texture like the others can and it is a natural substance. This container will last me a little while and that's a good thing - means it's large enough for those who do cook regularly - I make most of my own meals instead of going out to eat. I do this for several reasons - first, as a child we didn't eat out so I was used to being in the kitchen helping with the meal in some way, second, cooking means I know what is in the food I eat - you can't really say that about eat-out and last, if I'm making it, there are no "errant germs" - no sick person in the kitchen - to make me sick. So, making thickened sauces and gravies with this Arrowroot powder means I will have some good food on my plate for a long time to come!

Who know that something so simple could have so many uses?
This is my first time using ground arrowroot powder. Initially I have no idea what it was used for until I came across a need for it in a recipe. Then I start creating other things with this powder. I added it into my body butter for a silkier, smoother, less oily feeling on the skin. Finally for a diaper rash cream with zinc oxide. No matter what I've added this powder to it has come out great. I've learned it can be used to thicken up things like gravy. Great for the skin, cooking, and baking. Definitely a must have! A bit disappointed that the item arrived slightly open and past it's best before date. I do like the fact that it comes in a jar, decent amount of product, organic and there's a variety of uses I can use it for. I do hope next time the seller make sure to check there product first before sending it to consumer so they do not get an open item and pass expiration date.

GREAT at thickening up gravies and sauces & as an EGG REPLACER!
I use this arrowroot to thicken up gravies, and sauces and the like. It is very helpful when I am doing a sauté or a stir fry type dish – especially when using tofu – to truly thicken everything up. It works really, really well and a little REALLY goes a LONG way. You really do not need much at all. Just note that if you have leftovers sometimes the sauce solidifies so much, you will have to dilute it a bit with some liquid when reheating. Again – it works soooo well as a thickener – plus doesn’t taste like anything – so you can easily add it to anything. Also 2 tablespoons of this plus three tablespoons water and you have a fabulous egg replacer for even fluffy things like pancakes! I use it ALL the time for this purpose!
