Would this air compressor be a good alternative to using cans of compressed air to clean off dust on computers and electronics?

Yes. Those cans are useless. I ONLY use real air for dusting out electronics.

What about a framing gun?

NO. Well, you COULD run a framing gun on this, but you'd have to wait a while between nails. You'd be faster with a hammer, and you'd be running the compressor solidly on the entire time. Great way to burn it out. Get a bigger compressor with a larger air tank for a framing gun.

Will this work with a sandblaster?

This is a great compressor but the air tank is really small and wouldn’t be able to keep up with the air demand

Unpacked and in the plastic bag with the air filter is a black plastic tube 1/4” x 4”. What is this for?

The tube goes into a small hole on the edge of the filter it helps keep the noise down.
