Should be. Works with my iOS updated iPhone7 and my wife's iPhoneX.

Tony,You can definitely use these while you work out however, we don't recommend that you too as they are a more luxurious sounding pair of headphones. I know many that workout with their Triples with no problem! Heck I've even ran them in the washer once and they still worked so they will hold up well against sweat. Our best active headphones are our Bluetooth iBFree in ears, they are sweat resistant and fit very comfortably in your ear! I recommend looking into those as well.

Q: Why is the lightning version so much more expensive than the 3.5mm jack version? Any additional features?

The 3.5mm jack version is just a pair of IEMs (in-ear-monitors) with in-line microphone and basic controls and is an analog connection fed from your source’s DAC (digital to analog converter) and powered your source’s amplifier. The Lightning version receives the audio data from the phone in digital format, so it also has to have its own DAC (digital to analog) converter and a signal amplifier to drive the IEMs because it cannot rely on your phone’s/source’s.

Q: is that DAC is 192/24?

Per an answer on the Apple iPhone forum:"The iPhone will support 24 bit but only up to 48kHz. Unfortunately, Apple is being left behind by other devices that will support 96kHz and 192kHz files."
